That riff at 8:04 is sick as fuck Rob.

I'm glad that you put out videos like this to put people like me in a better mind-state. I spend so much damn time in option paralysis trying to hunt for tone and twisting knobs (which is good and fun and all) but I should be writing instead of twisting knobs for 10 hours. Don't get me wrong, I love tweaking and modifying stuff, but maybe I love it too much when I should focus more energy on writing rather than tweaking my sound.
@RobArnoldWorld Жыл бұрын
Well of course I'd recommend playing all you can, and making that your priority, but it's all about your personal aspirations! When it comes to tone, I think it's about spending the time to find something great, and then just sticking with it! Set it, and forget it. Then, focus on making killer music with it!🎸@@DukeDonnerson420

Sickest Guitarist. Rob totally captures that early to mid 90s aggression when music had that extra dose of testosterone. Absolutely love every riff and note he decides to play.
@jonpike9502 Жыл бұрын
The 90s where the drizzling shits. I don't know what you mean by that besides nu metal wich had zero melody or creativity. Rob and chimaira where not 90s generic 2 chord nu metal. They where with pantera in carrying the METAL flag until VERY UNFORTUNATELY they split. Plus chimaira had SOLOS wich most of all that 90s bullshit had ZERO.

Rob, I just joined your patreon. I hope you do more GP files like this. I don't use Drop C but I use Drop D half step down. With GP software I can transpose your music to my tuning and play along without dedicating a guitar to a tuning I would not use. I hope you do more of this stuff. Def worth 20.00 a month to get riffs like this on software like Guitar Pro. Guitar Pro has helped me learn more songs than in store lessons. Transpose, Slowdown, speedup, start a section out at 50% then after 10 repeats it goes to 60% 10 more at 60 then it goes to 70% ........you can really focus on technique and really nailing riffs. Thanks for all you do-- Ben

Awesome Ben! I really appreciate your support on Patreon man! I just sent you a message over there! And yeah as you'll see, there are dozens and dozens of guitar tabs available, as well as backing tracks and stuff, and ALL of the tabs are available in Guitar Pro format! So you should have your hands full for awhile! 🤣🎸 And that's so cool about being able to transpose things to your preferred tuning! 🙌

That was so cool! I dug that new jam so much, it reminded me of something right between the self titled crunchy aggressiveness and the more nuanced instrumental stuff off Magnitude! That gnarly metal preset was...well, freaking gnarly and mean! 🤘🏻It had vibes not unlike that awesome rhythm guitar tone on the self titled, maybe a little rawer and less refined but still badass! A SubZero bundle for this jam would definitely be neat! Sign me up for that! 🤘🏻😆 Cheers man, fantastic video as always!

Cool stuff, Rob! I just bought this plugin the other day after trialing it. I personally use the "shades of icon" preset by Greg Mackintosh under the artists presets. Just sounds so full with that little bit of reverb and slight delay. I might have to give that gnarley metal preset more of an opportunity to shine for metal rhythm playing tho.

Thanks dude! For that little intro bit before the drums kick in, it's actually just one track down the middle, and I put a plugin on it called Little Microshift, which spreads any mono signal out wider in the stereo field, and by doing so, gives it a chorus like effect. Then when the drums bust in, its two guitar tracks panned hard left and right. It's an old school trick I've always been fond of that creates impact when you want things to BUST in.

Hey right on man, and I'm so glad you're digging all I'm doing! As for your question, it's kind of one of those "what if" type things... Sure I love the convenience of all these resources and technology today, but would I be the same player, or would my music have turned out the way it did over the years, if I had access to everything we have today, when I was a kid? Would Metallica's music sound the same, if they had KZbin and the ability to produce music on their own in the bedrooms when they were kids? I don't know! It's an interesting topic for debate! But I know what you mean, and YES, it's an amazing time for creation that we're living in right now! @@bubbalee2340

Hey Rob, I love your channel and have been following it for quite some time now and would really like to join your patreon but since I have no experience in this field, I have a few questions on the matter which might be of interest to other followers as well. So 1) by becoming a patron, I'm supposed to gain access, among other things, to your tab library which looks most promising atm (and constantly growing, it would seem). But, how does it work ? Do I need to get to a special site ? Also, I'm completely old fashioned as far as working on tabs/music sheets and don't fancy on screen stuff which entails I would need to be able to print any song I want to work on. Is it possible (probably yes if members gain access to pdf. files) ? Is there a limitation to the number of songs one get access to or is the whole library available right away ? Does one get also access to the Guitar Pro files/backing tracks ? 2) Is there a difference, as far as getting access to special content, between the low cost membership and the "Mr Generous" formula ? 3) Do members get access to the new special packages you've recently been devising (for instance, the "Sub zero song" (I think that's the case, but not sure)) ? 4) Is there special prices incentives to members for items you sell in your store (I'd like to buy your teaching DVD, for instance, which I had acquired back in the day but lost along the way after moving out a couple of times) ? 5) I understand you can cancel membership anytime... is that right ? Should it happen (which of course is not the prime motivation for applying !), is it an easy process ? Well, it's a kind of FAQs comment but I'm sure your answers will help me and other members of your channel jump in the light (fire ?!?!) of your great playing !
@RobArnoldWorld Жыл бұрын
Hey man! All great questions! Joining Patreon is easy, and cancelling is just as easy! You can cancel at any time, and there are no questions asked. Personally since I've never cancelled myself, I don't have experience in the matter, but people do it all the time, and I'm pretty sure it's just a click of a button. But of course, I hope you and everyone who joins my Patreon club will find the content and community vibe to be valuable, engaging, and entertaining, making it worthwhile to continue your membership month after month. 😎 Once you come on board, you instantly have access to all of my posts, which always contain some form of exclusive pics, videos, downloads, behind the scenes content, updates, and early looks at my youtube videos. You also get access to my community forum, where members interact and share pics, links, content, love for guitars and gear, and everything in between. The forum is also where I host all of my guitar tabs. There's a forum thread that leads you to a google drive folder containing every guitar tab that's currently available. You can download anything you wish at anytime, as long as you're a member. Everything I've described is available at whichever tier level of support you choose. The main difference between the two tiers is that the I love You tier is showcased by giving members of that tier, special recognition of their support by having their names listed in the special Patreon Thanks section of every KZbin video I publish. With the guitar tab, you can definitely print out any of the .pdf's you like! And you maintain access to the entire tab library as long as you're a member of my Patreon Community. You also of course have access to all the backing tracks, and the Jam Bundles (like the Subzero!). All of this is included in your membership at either level. With my guitar instructional DVD, that's separate of my Patreon Community, and is just something you'd have to order from my website, if you choose to do so. But I recommend it, because it's currently shipping with 10 of my custom guitar picks! Cheers Michel! (please correct me if that's not your name). I hope I've answered all of your questions, and I also hope to see you over on Patreon if you have the means! 🎸
