I'm American but I know exactly who Hyacinth Bucket is. I used to watch Keeping Up Appearances as a child with my grandparents whenever I would stay over their house. It would come on at night along with Mr. Bean. Man, I'd give anything to do something simple like that with my grandparents again.😢

Matt, so much of what you show I have in my house in France, built in 1837 from stone. I have the solid concrete staircase, the wineracks, 2 separate cellars, it is amazing they don't throw anything away, I had a portable closed fire for heat, this fell apart when I moved it. Great explore. I was robbed in Orange in the South of France. Towing a large boat. On a toll road, they surrounded my vehicle, all dressed in black, stole all my money, police were called, I told them make of car etc, not interested. They had to exit the motorway via toll so on camera. I will sell my house, Like you I don't have good memories there. You could go to my house, full of Georgian furniture, nobody lived there for last 5 years, I travel the world with work so never there. So many houses like this in France.

16:30 - grenade extinguisher, its full of either water or carbon dioxide. you throw it at a fire, it smashes and the contents puts the fire out 31:42 - possibly a chinese theme tea caddy from early 1800’s. They put locks on tea caddies as tea was expensive to import. The person in charge of making high tea would keep possession of the key. Sending you huge hugs, I’m still so gutted you got robbed 😢

I would think with all the past history that some of the items such books could be accepted by a library, museum or put in a specialist auction to be sold to specialist collectors. They are all so important and should be treasured.

This was spectacular ! My theory is that chateau was a hiding place during WW2 for people wanted by the Nazis because of all the hidden rooms and the articles in those magazines and books were about the French resistance movement.
