Penicillin is an antibiotic used for fighting infections. The dates on the photos would be serial numbers not dates. The pictures looked like they were from the 1940’s and 50’s. The wedding picture would be family members and not the couples children as having children out of marriage was frowned upon. Brilliant video again guys. Hope the information helps a bit.
@storiesandstonesАй бұрын
yes! I just commented that I thought 1894 was a date code or some other kind of code. I agree with your date estimation. Only going on photos of family members I have dating back to the late 1800s, I'd estimate anywhere from mid-1930s to early 1950s for the found photos.

I love that you guys don’t try to over embellish your videos just to get attention. You give information you know and if you don’t know anything,you say so. It is not the same with other people’s videos. I think what you thought was a date on the photos was an inventory number because some of them were wearing clothing of a different era. ❤ the vids, Thanks for what you do

penicillin is not for diabetics (insulin) or bee stings (antihistamine ) - it is a precedent to antibiotics. Penicillin was a life saver against infection and changed the face of medicine.

In very old farms, the family used to sleep in the same building as the livestock. The family would stay in one end & the animals in the other. Sometimes the family would sleep above the animals in a loft space.Sharing the same building enabled people to take advantage of warmth from the animals. So anyway maybe the barn & the house were one at some point.
@mandybirch159Ай бұрын
9D is about 4p in today’s money. Pre-decimal. It changed in 1971. I remember going into the sweet shop after school and paying in old money. They gave me my change in new money as it is today. Took a while to get used to it 😊

The milk bottle was 9d which was the old pounds shillings and pennies pre 1971, in the milk bottle it was 9 pennies which was less than a shilling. Hard to explain any easier. Things were cheap then.
@jaynedavis4667Ай бұрын
9d is 8p today. it was pounds shillings and pence, but the pence was written as d, the pounds were £ and S for shillings, so it was £sd pounds shillings and pence, I grew up with it but it was changed in 1971 when I was 13! the 1894 numbers are not the dates, they are photographers numbers, those pictures were taken in the 1940's, and the stripes on his arm means hes a Sargent
