Saw these 3 guys play in Santa Cruz CA (a couple of times) in the mid/later 90's... they set a bar for my ears that has been yet to be surpassed. I am a lucky man!

Definately agree with you-Robben is one of the "old school" players, which is to say 90% of the time he is laying back. I can't tell you how many players really play it straight on studio/recording work. Periodically they'll lay into it but not often. I think it's professional ethics, hey but thats just one man's opinion. He definately had the breakfast of champions this fine day.

This is my favorite Robben. He has real swagger here. Looks like he's actually chewing gum during the performance? It makes me wonder if his confidence might be pharmaceutical. Whatever the case he would benefit from this kind of edge all the time.

Anyone notice ; this does'nt look like his main 59 Tele ? Looks too new. But again that could be the fact that it's 5:45am , should have been in the sack about 5 hours ago. I'll pay for it in about 3 hours when I gotta get up, but I'm trying real hard to compartmentalize that.

people usually get hammered on KZbin for honest opinions but here goes. Robin is awesome, one of the best tones and chops players ever. but, BUT does this great song need as many chord inversions and voicings as this???? sometime the simplest arrangement is the best.

g fid : 1st law of blues,, keep it simple ,, that’s why it’s so hard,,, this is text book stuff not for the blues,,, Robin is playing the blues with / thru a Jazz mind ,,,
