J'ai vu cette vidéo pour la première fois sur une chaîne musicale, en prenant mon petit dej en 96 probablement. "Ah oui, RW de Take That".

Who would have thought that 21 years later (the song came out in 1996) Robbie Williams would have sold over 47 million albums in Europe and over 50 million albums worldwide - becoming one of the most successful recording artists of all times. His European total places his among the 25 best selling recording artists in the continent. He has accumulated over 75 million in records sales and is one of the most successful touring artists in live-show entertainment.

Love this song as performed by either of the two UK Kings of Pop, George and Robbie!
@naokohunter9 жыл бұрын
Awesome start to what would be a legendary career for Robbie! Funny facts about this song: Goes to show the differences between the UK and the US... This song is actually a cover by icon George Michael who actually released the song as Freedom '90 in 1990. Surprisingly, the original song by already established solo artist George Michael barely passed the Top 30 in the UK, while it hit the Top 10 in the US. Strangely, when Robbie released it as his first solo single, with him not being established yet as a solo artist, and the single being a cover, it became a smash and peaked at #2 in the UK (26 places higher than George's original), while it didn't even chart in the US... Luckily I love both versions as George and Robbie are just the best!

I'm an Aussie and did not even know this song existed until now. This is the first time I am seeing this Freedom Cover by Robbie, and was surprised to see it. But Freedom by George was big here. I thought Angels was Robbie's first breakout from Take That, solo song. Must of been because it was a hit in US first before it got here. And because Freedom by Robbie was not big in US, it was not aired here in Australia. I had a feeling this clip was the 90s because of the highlights, choppy hair, baggy jeans, white shoes, checked shirt, and sunnies. It reminded me of Sugar Ray and a young Jamie Oliver. Love Robbie! What ever he does is cool. Looking back at old Take That songs, I could see Robbie was way too talented, to be pinned down by a group. Robbie is amazing, especially live!

When i first saw this on MTV, i was still in a mixed feeling between anger and simpathy for RW. I was mad at him leaving TT. But somehow, i could see how he was feeling through this video. Regardless of their hatred towards each member of Take that, i supported which ever member of TT who made solo album. And Robbie Williams became my most favorite soloist after Gary barlow.
