"You're not going to throw 18 perfect tee shots and 18 perfect puts." ... and then the next person up is Paul McBeth. Oh the irony.

Robbie. This was awesome 👏 I come from semi pro tennis background. When I started playing disc golf this past spring, I used the same kind of practice mentality. Form check, consistency, and frequency. Recently my 100 putts a day is starting to show an improvement. And I recently threw 398ft. Not bad for creeping up on 50 😂 I enjoy every minute I get to spend working on this game.

So much talk about putting and consistency but not one pro mentioned the true secret: Buy a new disc everytime something feels off about your form. It's the disc, not the player!

So true! This past Tuesday my friend and I played a round I didn’t do so good went to the store to get drinks and snacks also to look at their small selection of Innova disc. Ended up buying a champ toro proceeded to ace with it on hole 2 of the next round, my friend called it a pay to win ace 😂

I am 61 years old and try to get out and practice for about an hour each day as long as it is not raining, or I have errands to do before going to my full time job. Working on proper form I think is really key. I remember something Terry ( The Disc Golf Guy ) Miller said once during a tournament while he was commentating: "...the straight shot is the most difficult shot in disc golf...it seems very few pro's practice throwing the straight shot...tunnel shots, and gaps shots are not stressed enough.." so that's what I practice the most...the "straight shot"...

Great to hear from everyone and I think it goes to show that there isn't just one key issue, and even the different pros approach the game differently... but at the end of the day, it sounds like they all showed up and put in the work. Pro = Work.

Man times I can throw my putters as far as drivers. Which is…..not good. I’ve thrown 400 feet three times and I can’t throw putters that far, but I like Silas recommendations film yourself, mids and putters, consistency

Funny no one said approach shots. That seems almost important as putting
@bilboswaggings13 күн бұрын
Putting can make up for or even replace approach shots if you just lay up with a putt Also if you need an approach on a par 3 (which is the most common par) you are already taking a par at best Then either get better at throwing, putting or just eliminating mistakes in general and you can actually birdie

Paul mcbeths advice about consistency which isn’t really much of advice more so just fact lo you have to be consistent to be a pro so that was pretty weak
@Dav96314 күн бұрын
It means you need to practice that consistency. Throw the same shot a lot of times to become consistant...Pretty self explanatory
@luftisbollen14 күн бұрын
yeah, but still a good advice, i bet he is not so consistent right now, but he will come back i hope 🙂
@clintsawyer770213 күн бұрын
How is that weak? That's the point nearly everyone was making, consistency. He was saying that there are amateurs who can throw farther, but they can't do it consistently. They can't place the disc where they want every time. They might be able to hit some long putts, but they aren't hitting them every time. And they certainly aren't putting it all together as a package consistently. And that is the separator from Am to Pro. I mean I guess he didn't explain how you get that consistency? But that wasn't the question either, it was what's the difference, not how to get it. But he probably assumes people know consistency comes through practicing consistently.
@skrapplockarna13 күн бұрын
another tip was to focus on distance and later accuracy, good but how do you throw far 😁 @@clintsawyer7702
