I started thinking... so when you mentioned a “hang out spot” and an “office” it makes me think that it’d be cool if you put a wall in front of under the loft that either extends before or after the front door so that the tv is in its own space. Even soundproofing that one room could help with voiceovers or talking to the camera without so much echo... not sure if you’ll see this but hoping it gets out there!

Just trying to help, but from a guy who is always doing home diy projects and with about 7 years experience as an apprentice/carpenters helper for your design metal joist hangers on the joists of your floor frame would improve strength/bounciness, to further improve floor strength sister another board up next to your center joist and add a screw every 6 or so inches along the lenght of the board... ussualy that would be done before putting the frame into place but since you supported the inner wall the way you did you might still want to add brackets on the outer edge joists if you didnt support them the same way you did on the inner wall.... also, you said you planned on using shorter screws for your plywood, the general rule is, you should always multiply the width of your plywood(or sheetrock or panel board) by 3... so if thats 3/4 in plywood you would want at least 2 and 1/4 in screws holding them down, unless the thickness of what you are screwing into doesnt permit you would want to use the maximum size available without penetrating the other side of the boards... im not judging you or criticizing, i hit that like button... hope it helps

If you want lots of sunshine Calgary would be the place to go. We moved from Calgary to Seattle a few years back and it took me about 2 years to adjust but after the adjustment I stopped noticing the rain and gray. Now we are in Ottawa and I initially hated it here for the first 6 months because I missed the mountains in West and the summer was not as good as in Seattle. This winter was our first here and it felt like there wasn’t as much sun as I thought there would be. To me the best compromise was Calgary because even if the winters were cold a Chinook would roll in and it was warm and sunny again.

If your liability carrier saw that loft they'd drop you in a second. :( You need twice the amount of 4x4 supports and they should have been tall enough to continue into the railing, you used no joist hangers, the stairs are a huge hazard, and your railing balusters should be 4" apart max... Among many other issues.

I should just stop and appreciate what I've done already and what I have. I've made real strides and I immediately tell myself, "...people do this everyday. Move to the next thing.", in an effort to stay "grounded" or some kind of crap. It all moves soooo fast, life. You've got to enjoy it...you've got to breathe in the moments...or something to that effect. Anyway, Thanks! I truly got that when you said it. #SquadetteOutForNow #MiniTruckinAintDead
