That was so cool. I’ve always wanted to do a demolition derby. At 12 I started racing motocross and after 13 years of that I started racing Enduro‘s, cross countries and trials. Man that looked so so fun. Thanks for sharing your videos with us and me.

I was about to criticize the driver on his driving skills but then I seen Mr. Layton explain that he had no steering in the comments. In other word read the comments before making yourself sound stupid! Way to work with what you have Robby it's a lot harder than it looks.
@RobbyLayton7 жыл бұрын
YES it sucked but some times you do what you have to do I drove in to 4th place with no steering and it was one spot out of the money!! they paid 1st thru 3rd so it was a little discouraging!

@@RobbyLayton out the gate it appeared you drove cowardly avoiding contact at any point... not judging you honestly... I do wish you had someone tape from the stands so we could see the run from the grand stands... but it appeared you made minimal contact out the gate... if that a your style awesome... but not a "fan favorite" style...

Sounds like you use the same redline parameters that I do: never rev it higher than it will go!

You need a strap to hold your glasses on. You had to remove your hand from the wheel dozens of times during the event.

This is how you turn a 500 dollar running car sport for ppl who can't afford to race they can run demo derbies or just cheap fun really and this guy with 700 hp motors on his channel is how you turn it into a 10k dollar car hobby like asphalt circle track racing 30k dollar sportsmen and 30k dollar pro trucks
@patrickweaver11052 жыл бұрын
The engine is probably one of the least important things in a demo derby car. If it keeps running it's good enough. It's not like there's enough traction to use much horsepower or any room to get much speed.
@crappieslinger Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! This is why I do not derby any longer. When my dad and I started in the mid 80's it was unheard of to have a dedicated engine and transmission. You just found an old car, stripped it, welded the doors shut and put the batteries and boat tank in it and ran the damn thing and had a hell of a lot of fun. If you were lucky you might be able to drive it on the trailer at the end of the night buy most of the time you needed a front end loader to get it on the trailer. These morons that spend 5-10K on all of the powertrain and run the cars for 5 to 10 derbies have ruined it for me and a lot of others. It used to be about having a good time at the local county fair, not about money. This is what the folks like us did because we could not afford to build a dirt track car or a pulling truck. Hell I hit cars harder than this in the walmart parking lot opening my door to go inside!

It's not though... if you watch demo derbys often... many of them are boggying out and can't get any speed or power... he is getting around the track effortlessly
