Blows my mind just the work involved in these restore/rebuilds. Thankfully there’s enough meat to work with. These days a lot of work especially with newer vehicles is about replacing parts & not repairing much. I guess Robby & Cory have a real good feel for imperfections a bit like vets & chiropractors can feel when stuff isn’t sitting right.

Bed liner over the top rail, I think, is the way to go on a pickup bed. Do the tailgate the same way, to match, and it would be just that much more protection for the whole thing. Line-X or Rhino liner would be the best option. And they both offer paint matched colors. A maroon bed liner would be awesome! As for the tailgate, I'm a fan of a plain, no Brand name tailgate. With possibly a custom stainless emblem in the lower corner that says "Custom Aiden Edition".

Okay, I'm in the Midwest and nothing ruins a bed like a bedliner from trapped moisture! A sprayed bed is expensive but helps prevent the tub rusting from the top and oil spray under it keeps that intact. After all that, if you want a tool box or a bedliner you are super protected . 👽
@dustymojave2 жыл бұрын
I don't think Robby is talking about a plastic slip in liner that would trap moisture in a north eastern rust belt pickup. I think he's talking about a sprayed on liner. My son's '96 F350 4x4 has sprayed on liner that wraps the top edge like Robby's talking about. He uses it for a Chase Truck for our offroad race team (Baja 1000). In spite of some dents and dings, the liner is still in very good shape after 20 years.

This is so awesome! The first vehicle I fell in love with in America (back in 2001) was a Chevy Tahoe. I finally bought one a little over a year ago and it needs body work (I bought it wrecked). All I know about working on cars I learned on KZbin (Vice Grip Garage for the win!) I daily drive the Tahoe and there's nothing like the nostalgia of driving a 99 vehicle! I would absolutely love to have my Tahoe looking good. With 246k miles it would certainly be an adventure to drive it to Utah and back to TX...

* * * * * Yes, paint "Chevrolet" on the back but, have Aiden help you and high light with Golden Nugget Gold. Try Air Craft Fuel to strip paint. Over the rails and 2" on the outside to save the truck bed. Also it will give it a look like that you put in a drop in truck bed liner.
