In this video I will show how to carry your Wing Surfer and board to and from the water, how to get up and ride on a non-foil board as well as how to ride a foil board with your Wing Surfer etc, . . .

Robby Naish is the best in many aspects. And great instructor. I watched his videos, all my anxiety about the sport was gone. Because he is calm and makes it all simple, not intimidating like many others. I'll make sure I buy from his brand, no other. His daughter, needless to say, makes it all looks possible to anyone.

Great video Robbie! I don't know if you remember me from the early days of stock one design windsurf racing, but I sure remember competing against you. I was the guy from Massachusetts that joined you and 4 other guys, as part of the first Olympic sailing decision demonstration regatta, prior to including sailboards as another triangle racing boat, in CO Springs. Years later your family loaned me equipment to compete in an open class regatta in Kailua, where we had awesome open ocean conditions for our long distance race around the rock! What a treat to see you and your daughter making instructional videos together after all these years! I'm thinking of getting into foil boarding, after a hiatus of any kind of windsurfing. The foils look so great and I've dreamed of foil sailing pretty much all my life! But I need to get all new equipment, so I'm looking at the wings as a simpler way to get back into the sport on a foil. Keep up the great work with the videos and be sure to tell your daughter she is awesome in the video!

I'm 67 and just practiced on dry land with the wing this past weekend. I'll be putting some cattongue tape on the rails of the board I will be using as my hands have been slipping. I probably won't need it later but it will keep me from doing face plants LOL. Trying to learn on a 4'10" 96 liter board probably isn't ideal but I'm only about 63 kg and have windsurfed and windfoiled for a few years. Your video simplifies the concepts for me a lot. Get on the board from the windward side and keep the wing above my head! Thank you and Christina for giving me hope :)

Thank you! I weigh 180#/ 6'1" 55yo, and I am using a 4M wing with an Infinity 84 with a 48cm rear wing. The board works great behind a boat at 8 MPH but I have not been able to get up on the foil using the wing. I am going to try "Pressurize the front Foil" this weekend. I put my rear foot weight behind the mast, but the front foil seems to "Stall" and forward motion stops. I will try pumping more with my front foot. With the newness of this sport, there are no instructors in Pensacola. We are learning this from videos like yours. Thank you!!!
@roadrunnermakmak4 жыл бұрын
My guess: your wing is too small to generate enough speed to get on the foil. Speed (of board) is key, therefore: wait for days with plenty of wind...(I weigh 85kgs, 5m² wing, XXL foil (2150cm²), and I need at least 12 knots of constant wind - being a beginner, too); try putting your rear foot on top of the mast)
@prolifedoc4 жыл бұрын
I got a 6M Ozone WASP and upgraded to the Infinity Hoverglide 99 with a 48cm rear wing. I pop right up with 10-12 mph of wind. Upwind runs are easy. Minimal walks of shame. Now to jibe without falling.

That's sick. Now all we need is a way to "drop it off" when dropping into wave - perhaps it could have a "collapse" mechanism, so it stays put in the water rather than the wind taking it away, and a pinger / finder, or buoy to locate it. Ie, get speed up way before drop in - kinda like tow in, then ditch it when dropping in, or maybe even a small kite instead - not sure what would work better - but thinking for a "regular" surfboard, not a foil.
@valeriealexopoulos14403 жыл бұрын
The wing is lovely easy to pack, light and one piece, unlike a windsurf sail where you need a sail and boom and mast. The board for wing surf is pretty big and especially the foil are still awkward. If this sport evolved someday to easy storage and transport I'm in.

Good video. Thank you. Looking for words of wisdom on possibly a wing foil. I'm a long time "decades" long boarder to give real I idea what use/enjoy i have/had since 1993 a equipe xr2 an a phantom 377 since 2015 that like 377 better with it's advantages. Use 8.5 ezzy lions on both for decades with my local given conditions of 10-20 knots when I can sail June to September. I'm getting old 58 having a harder time transporting dealing with all on water with age becoming a issue. I'm 5.7 tall 170 lb like being able to hook into my harness enjoy the ride 10-20 knots. I'm looking for a long board alternative to keep me smiling on the water for many more years that I can transport an physically be able to enjoy. Wings to me seem like they would be physically demanding in comparison to be able to hook in the harness in comparison to longboarding in similar weather. Please give words of wisdom wing.. or...👍👎

I always see in my minds eye, the axe of the foil, shorter and slightly slanted forward to the nose, instead of straight down. I think it woul make it look a lot cooler, and perhaps add a spring to it. And while were at it keep the board looking like a surfboard, and not like a . . . . little platform or what have ya. I'm just daydreaming bless U. Greetings from Holland.
