@ifirebolti27894 жыл бұрын
Only watched a couple minutes so far, but if the mileage displayed at 3:36 is accurate (225 miles), then the reason the rpm is limited is because there is a built-in/factory system designed to allow the engine to be ‘broken in’ before you go nuts. So that the engine can y’know, get some miles on it, make sure everything is working & broken in (no expert on the reasons why). As evidence of this, TJ Hunt had a similar thing with his C8 when he was driving it back to his shop, where the rpm was limited for the first 500 miles (I believe it was 500). It just changed whilst he was driving once he hit 500 miles, allowing him to hit max rpm etc

The Corvette C8 has a break-in period of 500 miles, during which the 6.2L LT2 V8 engine is torque limited. The vehicle's rev limit is also lowered at this time, so the digital gauge cluster displays the redline as being at 4,500 rpm

ROB, DANGER TO MANIFOLD!!! I don't see a milling machine in your shop, so I CAUTION you about using end mills and reamers in your drill press do do anything precise. Drill chucks have TOO much runout and the drill press is NOT square enough to align those dowels, it's a quick way to destroy those parts. If you try that on your drill press you're going to have issues aligning all those dowels and they will bind. To get the most precise and accurate holes you will want to put those irons and housings on a milling machine and finish those holes with a boring head. Precision dowels and locating holes need a tolerance of about 20 microns (That's hole tolerance AND hole location), drill chucks have run out of over 70-100 microns. If you care about the alignment of the engine find someone with a milling machine and a boring head, you'll be able to pick up the stock Mazda dowel pins as a reference and match all the holes within that tolerance. PLEASE heed the warning Rob, talk to Nads at Built 2 Apex I'm sure has a fixture already setup for such a task.
