Man. So good seeing this. I feel so lucky to have known his music, and to have seen him live so many times. Texas legend!

Such a great song - cool to see its first public performance! Glad I've seen him live before he retired from touring

I used to live in SF and I never missed REK at HSB. I particularly love this song because of how much northern California is a part of it. San Jose, Santa Cruz, and "pig" ("Pig" threw a party...), the nickname for KPIG.

VH1 Behind the Music: Blue Oyster Cult, Part 2. After the Cowbell fallout, Gene leaves the band to pursue a solo career. He enjoyed overnight success, debuting at #1 with his first ever release, "Kum-Bay-Ah" from the Album 'Don't Forget the Marshmallows'

sounds a little like Darius Rucker

😂 C'mon. I love both but these men are on opposite ends of the spectrum for vocal talent. Robert Earl makes up for it with his songs and charm.

@gdnjr832 I didn't say he was as good as Darius Rucker. It just has a similar sound to it. Listen to wagon wheel

They both sound like "country"; I'll give you that. But let's not mention this to Darius next time we see him, mkay?

@gdnjr832 We'll just have to disagree.

Hey! We both like REK and Darius Rucker, so in my book, we agree on what matters. Cheers!
