As a Spence fan, appreciate you Mikey, you never did no wrong to the sport. Damn near shedding tears writing this shit. Hate to see people leave the craft they once loved. Peace brother. Your big brother Robert loves and supports you. Guess I'm pretty emotional because my big bro locked up in the feds, and I just got into boxing. I'm loving the grit of training and spinning my toes. But not having my brother here to support me sucks. Any way many great prayers upon all of you.

I saw this coming for a while now. I think him being raised in boxing and fighting so many amateur fights burned how out a long time. But his last two fights I saw that he had checked out. You could see it in his eyes. The fire was gone. I wish he would've gotten that Manny fight instead of the Spence fight. That would've been an even bigger payday. With that said I am always glad to see a fighter go out on his own terms. He didn't take punishment and he gets to live the rest of his life like a human being. I salute Mr. Garcia!
@Vjl5280

He didn’t fight many amateur fights. Losing two years of his prime beating Top Tank in court was his biggest win and should be applauded by other boxers that think they need to bow down to their promoters.

@@Vjl5280 Very true. Beating Top Rank in court was a huge win. It probably took a lot out of him as well. It stalled his career and momentum. His legacy fight should have been Loma, but Loma and Arum didn't want the fight. It's a shame. That's why Mickey got desperate and fought Spence. But regardless of that he had a successful career and will go on to do bigger and better things outside of the ring.

Mikey is doing good man. He has been a free agent for a minute. He made money, it's time for him to move forward. People clown him for the fight with Spence, but few boxers attempt what he did. I really don’t think it was the spense fight that finished him , it was more the fact that after that fight 140 was on lock by Ramirez ( a stablemate) and Taylor and worst was that not only was Ramirez trained by his brother but both Taylor and Ramirez are top rank fighters so Mikey finds himself at 147 with no real future top rank has lock of both 135( loma and teo) and 140 belts , so Mikey with no belts in sight no future at 147 , Mikey still tried to see if he could get a shot at 140 somehow but after getting millions in last handful of fights Mikey just didn’t have anyone other than top rank fighters for big fight at 140 , like teo or Taylor it just wasn’t going to happen with all bad blood after the lawsuits! Mikey only fight for a huge fight would be tank but who knows the politics behind that! Spense was just a during your be great that failed ! But that the end it was top rank that retired Mikey and the lack of motivation vs Martin !

There could have been an undisputed at 135 years ago when Loma had 2 belts and Mikey had the 2 other belts. He decided to fight "SPENCE" at 147 instead of becoming undisputed? One of them could have been the undisputed 4 years ago. Instead, he lost to Spence, robbed himself of possibly becoming undisputed...and robbed Loma's chance of becoming the same. Smdh. Mikey's a good boxer, but I lost respect for him concerning that entire scenario.
@munchieray8867
@munchieray8867 2 жыл бұрын
2 years later Loma almost had all the belts and decided to request the franchise belt just to lose to an unexperienced 23 year old Teofimo who had only 15 fights at the time... Loma aint the sharpest tool in the box either. Mikey and Loma both had their chances of becoming undisputed and they just blew it like idiots.
@wiseguy617
@wiseguy617 2 жыл бұрын
@@munchieray8867 Yeah, you're absolutely right. Loma isn't very sharp. His footwork is lazy. His power shots have no power, and his defense is overrated. He's already been KOd about 3 times smdh...how in the world was he ever #1p4p. He's a weight bully at 135 and I'm glad he lost to Teo. I don't think he even landed one clean shot and was rocked all 12 rounds. Mikey is another idiot with no head movement and just a jab. He should have beaten Spence easily...it was all about the money. If he wants to redeem himself, don't retire, fight Crawford, Canelo and Usyk, then move down and fight Inoue. Then I'll consider him an all time great.
