Even before the fight started Dubois was pacing up and down and he looked ready to go. AJ on the other hand did not. AJ just did not look mentally prepared to enter this fight. It was as if he wasn't fighting with the fear of losing. The fight was lost even before a punch was thrown.
@paulsilas6037Ай бұрын
AJ's problem is he is too theoretical about things that don't matter, that calmness display was probably a page from some deep book about meditation or something, meanwhile Dubois was going off what he felt at the moment.
@benbooth2783Ай бұрын
AJ was really nervous. He looked ok walking into the ring but once he was in there he looked like he was bricking it, go back and take a second look. He made ridiculous errors because his mind was gone. He was under a lot of pressure, third time champ and all that. To make it worse, Dubois was confident and didn't respect AJs power at all, he powered into AJ and gave him no time to settle. AJ got clocked in the 1st round and it was over, we all know AJs powers of recovery are unremarkable. I'm surprised AJ survived the second round, and props to him for staying in there. I was impressed he managed to get back in to the fight. But he was desperate, tried to capitalise on an opportunity that wasn't there and got punished. Dubois was awesome; confident, powerful, and hungry. Congratulations to him.

Lennox Lewis = 3-time World Heavyweight Champion + Avenged with knock-outs BOTH his losses! When Joshua said years ago; "Lewis is a clown"....well who is that clown now? I like Joshua as a fighter, he was the best for some time but like I have said for so many years there is NO ONE since Lewis retired better then he was. The Klitschko brothers was great, absolutely but not better. Wilder was a one-trick-pony who cashed-in on his right hand slammer. Joshua was great and at times had his moments but still no Lennox Lewis. Only Oleksandr Usyk as the real challanger to such statement, but that would make for a more complex debate with not only ring achivements but also amount of fights, wins and defeated opponents and is not really fare to any of the champs.
@TonySwaby212Ай бұрын

Daniel is hungry, AJ is comfortable with what he’s acheived. The only way I see AJ returning is if he has a genuine desire to end his career on a better note. Thats genuine desire, not just words. If he retired now he’s done his bit to revive boxing in this country. That was a magnificent event and I’d like to thank his excellency Turkhi for his contribution.

Ben Davidson is overrated. He's a sports psychologist, he's good for helping fighters when they're feeling down mentally, but then his tactical flaws show
@hooky230Ай бұрын
I put this down to Ben Davidson. They were over confident. The plan was to counter punch with no Plan B! AJ was far too relaxed and thought he could knock Dubios out early. Very naive!
@lloydwaycott8178Ай бұрын
It's not about his training. He's lost his confidence since Ruiz. He looked scared from the off. Once he got punched in the first round, he fell to bits. Doesn't matter who is training him.

Best way to beat A.J is simply hit him on the chin ,and that's a wrap once he gets stunned it's over ,I seen out of shape fury get knocked into the past ,and then get up and fight like he's possessed joshua has no chin case closed

Nope, Usyk would defeat Lewis. It would be rough, I think Usyk loses the middle rounds as Lewis hits him with uppercuts, but Usyk for sure pressures and outboxed Lewis.

@@soundwavesuperior28 imo i dont see Usyk outboxing lennox at all. The thing which makes lennox all time great is he's one of the most complete heavyweight of all time. He never depended on his power alone. He was smart as hell when he was focused. His jab would sting Usyk all night imo

The biggest tragedy is that AJ had the tools necessary to beat Dubois even if would still be a close match. But didn't use _any_ of them in this fight. I almost feel like Dubois didn't win because of his skill and ability, he won because the man set to fight him didn't even show up.
@SuperMillwallАй бұрын
Before people start the usual nonsense of.. “AJ would never beat Lewis if both were in their prime” Just remember Lennox Lewis got knocked out by McCall and Rahman.. Both fighters who are NOWHERE NEAR the level of Joshua. If they could beat him then Joshua would have just as much of a chance. Secondly, if social media was around during Lennox Lewis era, when Lewis got sparked out you’d all be jumping on him saying “Lewis is NOWHERE NEAR as good as the heavyweights of the past” Just remember all great fighters LOSE.. All great fighters get KNOCKED OUT.. And for the record I DON’T think Joshua would have beaten Lewis in their prime. But I’m just making a point that ANYBODY in Heavyweight boxing can get knocked out no matter how good they are, it’s happened for centuries and it’ll continue to happen.

The stoppage against McCall was controversial. The loss to Rahman was because Lewis was filming some movie instead of training. He came back and beat both of them. But I get your point, don't compare fighters of different eras.

We will see if AJ can recover from this, I have said for years that he can’t take a shot to the side of the head, it’s how Ruiz finished him and Usyk kept scrambling him. Povetkin almost managed to make him taste the canvas, it’s been a problem for him since the Klitchko fight and he’s never worked on a defense to stop people hitting him there!

Was very disappointed to hear our fans boo the Saudi Arabia national anthem. Sheikh Turki CHOSE to do this fight in London, he could've easily done this in Saudi like the other fights. We should've shown respect to his nation's national anthem

Dubois first right hand was delivered in monthly instalments. 😅 AJ should have seen that coming & moved. AJ’s hands were low, his reactions were slow, & he stayed in range for most of the fight without counterpunching. He looked like his was trying out the Joe Joyce style of boxing.

It's simple, AJ thought Round 1 was the size each other up round, Dubois didn't, AJ was caught off guard. The question here is, how long could Dubois last if he was the one who got caught?
@korsakovpodcastАй бұрын
Underrated comment. Dubois was basically knocked out in the last round himself, so yes, it was probably the matter of "who would land it first".
