Robert came to our tiny little Pine Bluff, Arkansas Convention Center when he was bigger than life and absolutely tore the roof off. It was later reported that he was pretty much furious at having to perform there. He didn't get angry and refuse to perform or put on a half-ass show, we got the full experience and out of a sea of concert experiences that always stood out. That is true professionalism.

The Eurythmics played the Christchurch town hall on their Revenge Tour and apparently thought about the same thing. They absolutely smashed it. I think people from "up North" have a very real type of integrity and a determination to give people what they paid for regardless of where they live.

Think of all of the great performers that have passed during our lifetime that people in the past never heard of and never experienced. I wonder who the next superstars will be - like -- for example - The Beatles -- that will take over the world - and that we will never know and experience. Our lives smaller than a nano second in the grand scheme of things.

I had written a song called, "Addicted to You" and recorded it in a local LA studio. About a year later, Robert Palmer came out with "Addicted to Love". He didn't steal my song, but it sure gave me a good feeling, knowing that I might be on the right track. God bless and RIP, Mr. Palmer. You left a memorable legacy.

Had the fortunate experience of seeing him live at Massey Hall in Toronto in the '80s and he put on an amazing performance with his band. Just purchased a few of his albums on CD/iTunes recently as they were on cassette tapes which wore out. Absolutely loved the way he dressed too - very classy. You are sorely missed Robert.

I saw that you have replaced some worn out tapes with albums, excellent. Ive loved him for many, many years too. I thought i would mention his incredible album Pride is my most loved. It just blows me away! I can tell you are a real fan so i thought i would pass on what a superb album it is. I love it still now just as much as when it came out. Also, a song not everyone knows about. Another artist i listened to in the 80s was Rupert Hine. Robert joined up with him to sing the brilliant Living In Sin. Hope it brings some joy for you.

It makes me happy to know Robert Palmer felt Broadway/Showtunes were under his head. I feel similarly. He was/is such a talent. Man, wish I wasn’t so into high schooler music at that time in the early 2000s to better appreciate him while he was alive but I’m grateful to be here as a down appreciative of his music now.

Great musician, but he died much too soon. I saw him two times live and it seemed that he was running on drugs ... maybe that is the reason his heart failed so early. Love him since the 70ies. He was like a chamelion of rock/pop/reggae, blues and jazz. Incredible. Completly underrated.

My bro was a DJ (on air name: Steve Cochran - WKTK, WQSR) in Baltimore in the 70s-90s. He was also a promoter for Island Records, and Robert Palmer ended up being one of his greatest cohorts. He interviewed him on the air more times than I can recall. I actually have a poster on my wall of my brother interviewing Robert (the poster was to promote an oldies show my brother used to do from a college station in the 2000s) So I have a great Robert Palmer story for you... My bro arranged to bring Robert to my mom's house for her famous spaghetti and meatballs. I was invited to the dinner but arrived late. I remember flying through the front door to the sight of Robert Palmer passed out on my mother's living room couch with an empty bottle of wine and glass next to him >.< I can say that no matter what influence Robert was under at any given time he was a gentleman to the end. Just such a truly lovely individual. I can only imagine what he and my brother (who died in 2019) are getting up to right now - they were thick as thieves ;) RIP Robert, RIP Steve 🥰
