Even George Harrison can't stand them. Phil Collins and his work with Genesis is timeless. The man has had more success that OASIS can only dream about having and also those that think Phil is crap don't really appreciate great music, probably lead a boring life and listen to crap like OASIS hearing Liam's boring and repetitive and tedious droning voice. It's good to notice that Phil says he isn't against the band and that if you can look past Noel and Liam the music is ok with a great nod to The Beatles. Noel just blatantly says he won't listen to any Genesis that involves Phil. That's a lot of Genesis albums and great musicians he is pushing twoards the bin. Sounds unlikely, I've worked in recording studios for 30 years and have been around many very famous artists. Anytime Phil Collins came up in conversation, one of those artists would have a story about what a POS he was as a person. Maybe he did have a moment of philanthropic kindness, but it would be out of character. I did finally meet him a few years ago & he was just as obnoxious as everyone said he was!. Definitely has short man syndrome!!

Ben Richards oasis have sold over 70 million albums world wide and were one of the biggest bands on the planet at their peak. They are well known world wide and especially in South America for some reason, Just look at some of their concerts abroad. Most of North America didn't quite get oasis and therefore this limited their popularity potential, if Oasis broke America then they would undoubtedly be up there with the Beatles and the stones, despite that though they are still one of the "big bands". They weren't only big in the UK.

I used to think of Phil as being uncool (mainly due to some of his 80s hit singles and how Genesis went in a more mainstream direction under his leadership) but when I first heard Eno's Another Green World I saw he drummed on a few tracks and especially on the first track really liked the sound of them, and now respect him a lot more for what he's achieved. There’s no point arguing about who’s “better” because music will always be subjective. However, in terms of who’s a more successful artist, there really isn’t a point of comparison. Phil Collins alone has sold more than double Oasis’ sales, and even Genesis as a group has sold more than them. Collins has won 8 Grammy’s and an Academy Award, Oasis have won neither. Oasis are a beloved British band, but on a worldwide scale Phil Collins will always be more successful than them.

Talking about the music, Phil wrote originals, Oasis copied originals, there is no comparison. I like the Noel side of Oasis, witty and outspoken and did write a few nifty tunes, Liam was just a blarting oaf. Here's the end of it. In terms of sales, Collins has done numbers that the Gallagher's could only dream of doing. He's more successful than them, period. Yes, Morning Glory is one of the best selling UK albums, but reality check Oasis fans, one album doesn't make up an artists success. You need to do numbers with every record and that is what Collins and Genesis did, and Oasis haven't even come close to that success, not even when you include the solo efforts of both brothers. So Oasis can take the Loss here. Collins has them beat as a musician.

Oasis are extremely inconsistent. First two albums are great don't me wrong, they're amazing I can see why people love 'em. But everything else after that was uninspired, repetitive, similar, formulaic britrock music.

I love both Oasis and Phil Collins, so I am not taking sides here. Phil is one of the most soulful singers and brilliant drummers and musicians the world has ever known. His work with Genesis and as a solo artist are remarkable. Oasis is my second all-time favorite band after The Beatles. Noel Gallagher is hands down the best songwriter of his generation, and Liam is easily one of the greatest rock vocalists in history. What the Gallagher brothers accomplished together in Oasis was truly magical. Definitely Maybe and What's the Story (Morning Glory) are two of the finest rock albums ever released.

Oasis weren't without talent, but they were certainly not the greatest act of the Britpop era. Very overrated. They couldn't hold a candle to The Lightning Seeds, Space, James. Even the legendary OMD only scored number 17 with Walking On The Milky Way during the height of Britpop, and that was a way better single than anything that charted by Oasis.

I love oasis, my favourite band.. But I also think Phil Collins is class as well.. Wrote so classic songs did Phil, and he was Gr8 in buster.. Along with the sound track for it.
