I bumped into Mr Plant on my 40th birthday, in Lyme Regis, UK. Couldn't believe no-one else had recognised him. I told him I loved 'Raising sand' and he leaned into my car window, looked at my girlfriend and said 'So far so good'. For some reason I called him 'bob' and asked where I could park(as if I'd known him for years). He let me have his parking space. He was very nice. I Shook his mighty hand and off he went in his robin reliant. Rest of my birthday was an anti-climax as it sunk in and I thought of all the other things I could have asked him, instead of where to fucking park.

The vocalist that has encapsulated my life's journey with his solo work, and he doesn't even know it... From " Like I've Never Been Gone" in 1982 to "Carry Fire" in 2017... 35 years, Wow... Thank you Robert... Also * That last band you were in from 1968 until 1980, prior to your solo career was indescribable. They were so awesome and innovative... Thank you again Robert...

"When you've created one 'Whole Lotta Love', how many of them do you need?" That's really well said. People always want bands to keep doing that same thing over and over. Zeppelin was genius at connecting the familiarity of their early work to the explorations of the new material they were putting out. It always sounded like Led Zeppelin, no matter how different Fool in the Rain is from Heartbreaker.

I think Paul Rodgers and Coverdale would hold that crown. 👑

@@audreycraig9433 Err I think not. Rodgers, a far superior singer, came before Plant.....and Coverdale was influenced by Rodgers.
@audreycraig94333 жыл бұрын
@@pleasepermitmetospeakohgre1504 that’s not true, Coverdale himself used to tell people he was the Robert Plant of the 80s, even his ex-wife confirmed it. Rodgers and Plant started singing professionally in 1968. Rodgers and Coverdale are baritones Plant is a tenor.
@pleasepermitmetospeakohgre15043 жыл бұрын
@@audreycraig9433 You originally claimed Rodgers was influenced by Plant when that isn't true, as you've confirmed by the timeline of their careers. Also I don't know why Coverdale would say that....as he has a far stronger, more versatile voice than Plant, plus Coverdale's career started in the 70s, it didn't begin in the 80s.

It always has amazed me how humble, kind and full of wisdom Robert Plant has been his entire life. While I personally wish he would of kept touring with Led Zeppelin during the "Celebration Day" concert, we do need to respect and appreciate what he is doing - especially at his age.
