Hoping everyone is telling absolutely everyone...Robert and Bernie are speaking clearly: It takes each of us doing our part and asking our friends and families to do the same. Restoring and safeguarding our govt. of, for and by the People requires that We the People show up! I believe we will.

always good for a good laugh. But he turned out to be so wrong. It didn't go up $4000, It went up $6000. 150% increase over what was predicted for the average household. That is in the first year of the tax cuts.

What middle class?
@yttean987 жыл бұрын
I am from down under, the American political system used to be the envy of the world and it had worked wonderfully over the last 200 years and over the last 8-10 years it stopped working effectively(e.g. money politics, the quality of political leaders, etc) and in fact it becomes detrimental to the whole country, unless both parties recognise this there will no real economic reforms for the American people i.e the middle class and subsequently help to recover the American economy, etc. Is there light at the end of the tunnel so far no.... Is the American political system reached its life-span, maybe, one thing for sure of no political system is infallible and this system is no exception. American influence in the world will wane from now on and in future... I watch your videos from time to time and I find them very interesting and the best of all the facts are very revealing.

1/2 of the 200 years we had no income taxes. Sales taxes were zero too. Now you have people living in cars here and in Australia because all the land is locked up by the counties. End the private ownership of land. Free equal land, free equal people.

I have no problem with business tax rate cuts, especially for small and medium cap cos, but they must be made revenue neutral by reducing tax breaks/corporate welfare. This would increase business growth, while reducing impetus for K Street and their lobbyists. Earmarks were banned years ago. Prospects of De-Regulation, Citizens United and other impediments to campaign reform, and corporate welfare keep K Street in a robust state of greed.

I’m glad political campagnes in my country, the Netherlands are not supported by big corporations, lobyists. I don’t agree with You the system of financially supporting canditates for presidency can’t be changed. One can suppose restrictions by law. Other thing, I heard senator Cruz in a discussion with Bernie Sanders blaming also the Obama administration for the growing gap between the rich 10 % and the rest of the American population in the existing tax regulation.

Real tax reform must begin with (1) elimination of the tax break for long term capital gains and dividends, (2) creating a new top tax bracket of 44% for net income above $1.2 M, and cutting the corporate tax rate to 32%. Use the additional income this will generate to increase bottom three income tax brackets so that it is revenue neutral.

I like Robert Reich. Based on his strengths and ability to land academic and government positions, he's one of few that people can apply the word "smart" to. Frankly, he's a favorite among the Bernie crowd and shares many of Bernie's and the Bernie Millennial fan views, but the fact that he's pro-Mike Pence & anti-Donald Trump for the presidency shows that he's willing to not be a purist Liberal sheep. Purist or extreme Liberals think Pence is worse than Trump while I don't necessarily agree with Reich's reasons for why Pence is better than Trump. My belief is that you have to expect the worst with both because since Bush left office, how are the Republicans better at helping the masses versus the Democrats? They're not. The bills passed and donations prove it.

Robert, how was the stock market doing during the George W Bush years leading up to the global financial crisis?
@freetrailer4poor7 жыл бұрын
Stock market collapsed in 2008-2009 due to effects of the real estate bubble. Most of the real estate bubble was due to lax lending requirements imposed by liberal trash. The same liberal trash that are laxing lending standards today.
@robininaus7 жыл бұрын
pirucreek I mean leading up to the GFC- We were all suffering and global elites were making out like bandits, the stock market looked fine. Then guys lie Menuchin stole money from poor people because banks were insured and bailed out! You did not see the driver to my question!
@robininaus7 жыл бұрын
Ashamed US Eagle I was not trying to give Trump any points, believe me! I was trying to point out that, under Bush deregulation and tax cuts gave global elites a sense of entitlement and greed that caused the working class to suffer, that we were starving and suffering BEFORE the stock market crashed! Even if Trump can take credit for holding out advantage to corporate interests and the stock market is sky rocketing, he is stirring a stew that could lead to world-wide depression if he destabilizes the world economy, further hopelessness and helplessness if he cuts out vital safety-net that allowed workers to have basic services like CHIPS program and I heard giving tax cut to the wealthy may even cause a boomerang effect in the market!
@freetrailer4poor7 жыл бұрын
robininaus, here is the stockmarket crash and housing crash explained. Read and listen to it 10 times, because it is a normal cycle that is caused by land and debt every 18 years. www.henrygeorge.org/pchp22.htm . Bernanke, did make a breakthru, he figured a way to keep the same system and prevent depressions (by providing liquidation to banks). But the entire system is corrupt and protects banks from losses at the expense of EE (Everyone else). Bankers know this that is why they write in automatic bonuses. Kasich collected a million bonus from Lehman Brothers I believe as it was going bankrupt.
@danielbeard95677 жыл бұрын
pirucreek "Bernanke, did make a breakthru, he figured a way to keep the same system and prevent depressions (by providing liquidation to banks)" He provided liquidation to the banks because these commercial banks own the Federal Reserve, which is governed by the corrupt bankers on Wall Street. "prevent depressions" Tell that to the people that lost their jobs, cars, property. It is not a normal cycle, unless you call fiat money normal.
