Absolutely stunning piece of art! It almost looks like a black-and-white photograph. Don’t be so hard on the old man. He lived through the Great Depression. Without having experienced what he experienced, none of us can rightly judge him. I would have loved to have seen the original frame. It needs a more substantial frame in charcoal grey or black, as well as anti-glare glass, to truly do justice to this artwork. Thanks for sharing!

Nope, sorry, he's a jerk. He lived through the Depression. Big deal. So did millions of others, like my parents, for example. They knew humility and a sense of fair play. This old creep didn't.

When you’re getting too good of a bargain from a seller, do not try to take them down in price. They’re trying to generate an income. You can afford it and they need the money more than the seller.

*No...the man beside the wagon is looking back at his destroyed home and land...everything he worked for gone to nothing more than dust and ruins* *His son holds the traces for the dray horses, their muscles straining from the load of the possessions the family has left to them...he's old enough to work, but too young to realize what it means to have what you thought was a secure farm and house blown into worthless memories* *The mother and daughter know only sadness...their heads down from the work of packing all that's left to them and the sky behind them mocks them all with it's promise of ruin and suffering* ____________ *I see elements of the 'Dutch Masters' here, in the horses and the posture of the farmer and their faces not quite visible except the boy who still hopes of a 'better tomorrow'*

Strange how the image shows poverty and desperation and the owner delights in telling how he beat the original owner out of 5$,. When discovering its value he exclaims, winner winner winner. What an odious little man.

She did no work to figure out the value, because she was lazy and wanted to make a quick buck. He, on the other hand, valued the art enough to take it to an expert. You communists think people who actually do work are evil, and people who found a painting in her attic are saints. She probably stole it from her relatives and used the $15 to buy drugs.

You don't understand how markets work. Both the buyer and the seller are allowed to say what price they think is fair.
