Robert M. Sapolsky, Ph.D., is the John A. and Cynthia Fry Gunn Professor of Biological Sciences and a professor of neurology and neurological sciences at Stanford University. In this clip from his talk for the Science of a Meaningful Life series, Sapolsky explains why the stress response, which evolved for short-term physical crises, can become a long-term, chronic problem for human beings.

Mr. Green Jeans is the best nick name for Sapolsky! He is not afraid to get his jeans dirty digging in animal behavior quite literally on the African continent. He can tell you exactly why Captain Kangaroo is dressed the way he is!

Sapolsky is a living national treasure. Many of his bits posted on you-tube should be checked out by every adult, and shown in junior and high school health class so our youngsters step into the world with some truly applicable knowledge. I'm sure his work has saved many lives and will continue to do so.

Dr.Sapololsky is such an accomplished persuasive narrator of highly simplified scientific ideas of complex (non)-adaptive phenomenon. His narrative content has such wonderful simple logical flow that kills doubt, progress is made to seem inevitable and certainty of knowledge undisputed. He meets a definite cerebral-social need that is real and is likely to increase as AI and ML becomes more powerful.

I have lived a hard life! It seems to become harder as I battle the unending war of fibromyalgia! I help others with stress and pain but am burning- flesh and bone- in my own hell! This is what stress did to me!

I have a cure for stress. On my record of extreme situations like car accidents, violent altercations, etc, my methodical formulas developed as a teen work. I used to suffer from stress. It made my allergies worse and symptoms amplified. When I cured myself, I also applied the formula to stress. Ever since, my body and mind automatically discharge stress. I'm working on converting my formulas to modern science but, it will be a challenge.

It may seem silly that our stress system treats prime rate (long-term threat) like a lion attack, but the reason why our brains do this is because it's evolved to predict not only long-term threats but also long-term rewards, or more generally... any long-term events that are relevant to survival therefore evoke strong emotional responses to recruit the proper attention to encode the memories helpful in dealing with those events. Without the emotion, there's no attention, Without the attention, there's no memory encoding. So, perhaps the silly behvaior is just one necessary side effect of our species success, which is, arguably, mostly contributable to our ability to plan and think long-term horizon.

I would advice you to check out the Huberman lab podcast hosted by the neuroscientist Andrew Huberman..He is such a wonderful and insightful man..Each episode of his podcast is full of tools that help to mitigate various forms of stress..Hope it helps my friend🇮🇹

Consider that it conditional. /why/where/when. Start just by breathing. Nothing fancy/technical. Take ypurself to WC if the only quiet private space you can be in. Just sleeping baby breath . Pat your tummy. Keep doing it suddenly a big breath will well up suck it in... It will wobble over a wembly of your thight diagramn.. Wow.. Youll be surprised. It opened up! And you will be aware that you havent breath deep loving just for yourself to get in fresh air... Alll for yourself!!! Be kind to yourself. and do sitting meditating. It facilities you to have grace upon yourself when you start looking inward. . Best best best well wishes every step of the way. 💐🗯️💭🙏🌾🌻🌾.
