in last 10 years I've heard quite a few wonderful riffs from Metallica that never made their way to album. And this is one of them. This stuff is much better than the majoriy of chosen riffs for their last albums. :(

I love the fact that James recognizes and appreciates true talent when he hears and sees it....Rob is very talented and deserves to be in Metallica, that's why Ozzy almost shit his pants when Rob joined, he knew he lost the best bass player he's ever known. I still and always will prefer Jason because of his Monster Vocals that made metallica sound better live.

Look up 'the god that failed' by Metallica and 'Dawn patrol' by Megadeth. Both songs resemble the tune Rob played. Also, I think they used that part in 'All nightmare long' on the death magnetic album but Im not sure.
