Not really. Edwards literally made gun signs and kept saying "head shot" dead after knocking Usman out cold, and mentioned Usman's dad being in prison during the buildup for the trilogy if I remember it correctly. It's all entertainment at the end and Edwards gonna be happy when he sees the PPV buys due to Colby's trash talk.

Robert brought up something that I saw nobody else bring up, and that's how Colby had to get into the fire and close the distance to be able to pressure and shoot and he just couldn't, Leon was too fast for him, he usually throws a bunch of shots then shoots under but Leon was seeing those from a mile away

It wasn’t that he couldn’t. He hadn’t fought in years and was unwilling to take any type of damage in order to get his game plan off. It is sad but Colby’s old now and he looked it. His striking is shit and he should retire now

@@scotscottscottt yea i think you bring up a massive point that he just DIDNT attempt to take him down but like 3 times in the first 15 minutes. And then in the 4th and 5th he had decent success take leon down, but at that point leon had more in the tank still so colby couldnt do anything with the takedown. Leon is definitively good but it seemed like that wasn't the colby we are used to

I think every few years there is a new element introduced to MMA. There was a period where wrestlers dominated every division. Then it moved to the power of kickboxing and the calf kick. Epitomised by Adesonya and Pereria. Now there seems the next step is reaction speed. Tom aspinol was so much quicker and slicker than pavlovic, and Leon Edwards countered Colby with speed. Beating him to every punch.

hey hey rob and jonny. question for rob. what's the difference in preparation for a fight that takes place close to home (australia) as opposed to fighting somewhere further away? (like the united states)

Question for both of you- what makes a good boss fight? does different game genres have different criteria? Also Rob: who/what is your favourite elden ring boss, or soulsborne boss in general

It seems like every fight leon wins the opponent has bad knees, he’s old, ring rust, has an off night lol. Just accept he’s the best in the world at the weight

I feel you need to threaten standups/wrestleups from guard to enable that dangerous guard game. If people arent pressuring forward to keep you held down, they can be defensive on top and not be too threatened by otherwise dangerous guards. Just have to use the guard as a reactive position and use what they give you, not just force what you want.

I feel like they should show the KO aftermaths. Really show the fans the reality of the risks of fighting and hopefully make fans respect the fighters more, showing what they are risking. It was horrible to watch. But it did happen. And I feel like everyone should be aware of the risks... Fans don't get to see the 20 surgeries you guys have to endure for what may or may not be a sufficient paycheck.. so more or less if we accept fighting into our lives as entertainment. We should be aware that the people in the cage are real alive people who are risking something super real. This is just my opinion, though. Thanks for the great podcast. Keep it up :)

Ocarina of time and Majoras mask are so good, that metal gear solid 3 remake might be game of the year when it finally comes out as well, those older games seemed to be made to be great in a way games today do not seem to be
