Wow! Your theory is gold! My 15mths old retriever is always a front walker, constantly leaving me for sniffing and marking, checking the news in the neighbourhood. There's nonone to blame but myself because I've been allowing him to. Always thought sniffing during walk is good for the dog, but I now have to schedule the sniffing time and pay attention to me time. Thank you for all the videos uploaded. I'm about to sign up your online course as I'm so tired of positive only method. To me, it doesn't exist, as if removing treats away when the dog doesn't give you the behaviour is positive?? You have taught me how dogs need discipline and discipline in order for them to be successful and happy. Can't wait to join the online couse.

Good stuff. Thank you for your information Robert! For those of you who are so confused with this why don't you go and seek an actual trainer or attend a siminar. Dog training is a very hands on experience and just sitting in your home watching this stuff isnt going to make your leash handeling any better.

Hi Robert, I’m also Robert. I have a silly and possibly an even dumb question. I’m looking into getting a lab puppy that’s roughly 3-4 months old, i have a seven year old golden retriever right now. I would like to train this new puppy on my own as I can’t afford a trainer right now, however I’m in a wheelchair, not the strongest and was wondering if you could leave me with some tips, advice or even try some training from a wheelchair. Sorry for such a long winded messages. Thanks for all that you do.

Hi Robert, i find the collar correction useful while loose leash walking… ive got a 1yr old american akita who is reactive and goes crazy when he sees small dogs and cats.. so i am taking him everyday for 30 to 45mins at the local park (not a dog park) to work on his socialisation, we are just like watching and doing some basic obedience from afar so he gets used to a lot of distractions.. im just wondering what collar do you use in this video? thanks!

Muscle Wastage back Legs I recently re-watched your video on stretching back legs and back leg problem with Goofy (2016) which was so helpful. Do you recommend that I do this for the muscle wastage on hind legs that my vet has noticed in my 6 year old German Shepherd who is active and likes hill walking with me but has recently started taking 'stop-breaks' for a few minutes during the hilly parts of the walk. Her heart appears healthy and beats slow, no murmurs. She is otherwise very well. Thank you for your advice and your brilliant channel which is so helpful.

@@RobertCabralDogs I work from home and I Figured it would be geat to place the crate on my office but now every time i live the office to do something like getting coffe or bathroom she starts crying, while im there she is ok, im guessing im doing wrong to have her there with me all day while I work because the point of the crate for me was to have her separated safely from my old dog and a place to have her while i was out running errands. Should I move her to a different area? I do take her out several times a day my job allows me to give her a lot of time but im still scared to leave her alone to run errands

Could you make a video on how to stop growling aggression in your dog? My dog has started to randomly growl at me when he doesn’t want to do something, and if I try to touch him he will bite at me. He also is beginning to no longer listen to commands. He’s a very nervous dog when we go outside and he doesn’t like to not be in his kennel anymore. He’s 6 months old and 80 pounds and it’s already difficult to correct him. I want to try avoid getting rid of him because it’s ultimately my fault not his, but I don’t know where the problem is and I can’t afford professional training. Please help!

You never explain what to do when the dog is actually pulling. This isnt a puller. What about when they ignore the collar correction and ignore the ecollar? I refuse to take it so high that she cringes or yelps but she doesnt care about corrections. Especially when she sees another dog. Shell yank herself even on a prong till she makes herself yelp. That's the help i need. I give up on her. Cant take her anywhere anymore when a year ago i could no leash her around the neighborhood.

Always walk in the opposite reaction of where the dog is pulling. My dog was a crazy puller. I focused a lot on the recall and long line training. Dog pulls, I correct dog, I make dog come, praise, and walk in the opposite direction. Keep it super basic by just practicing this in your yard or in front of your own home, a place he knows and feels comfortable. If you have a big living room, start there. Initially I used only 20 or 30 meters or so to practice this in front of my apartment. If your dog can't pull off, no pun intended, this good behaviour in a comfortable environment, why would he be able to pull it off on a long walk with all sorts of interesting distractions? Dog is away from me leads to something unpleasant, dog is close to me leads to something pleasant. I just used a slip leash with stopper attached to my long line.

@@adamm5054 his information is shit. He literally has a dog in the video that's already off leash healing while labeling the title as stop pulling. @@riojimatsuoka ya been there done that. My dog doesnt care about corrections and switching directions justs means she pulls in that direction too. We can reverse 100 times in 50 feet but she will not refrain from pulling. Ive tried it ALL till I was blue. Even treats. Shell come heel, eat it, and waltz away. Even if i keep them coming. Had to quit using treats to not breed worse habits

This dog isn't pulling... even a tiny bit. Show a dog that PULLS... a dog who pulls so hard that he or she is on his or her hind legs as the owner tries to be kept from being dragged down the street. This is a dog who simply smells the ground and gets distracted once in a while, this isn't a dog who's pulling. Misleading title, imo.
