@@martingonsalez6635 I have a 98 Corolla with the same exact issue! Except mine will shut off before I put it into gear if it sits for too long. My car has stalled multiple times when driving. It starts up just fine and will continue like it didn’t just die. Before changing the fuel pump, I just found out that it could be the fuel pump relay! Did you have any luck changing the fuel pump?

These are great tips. My Walbro Fuel Pump lasted 7 years. I am driving a 96 Jaguar XJ 6 already 12 years as a daily driver with over 280,000 miles on the engine. The symptoms are correct. In my case, my old fuel pump became very noisy, as on the old Jags between 95 -97 the single pump model , the pump is submerged in the tank, and literally you can hear it kick in when do cold start. I placed the same Walbro Fuel Pump and keep driving my car with unleaded fuel only and never going below 1/2 in my 23 gallon tank. In order to extend the life of the pump, remember keep them cold, do not run them hot, driving with low gas in the tank. Very informative video.

Very helpful. My 2005 highlander has almost 195,000 miles on it and I am certain after checking the battery, alternator and fuses that it’s the fuel pump. It turns over, but will not start and I don’t hear the fuel pump motor turn on, complete silence. Now I’ll have to have it towed into a garage that has an honest and good mechanic. I just tried troubleshooting it myself beforehand, so I won’t be totally in the dark when they tell me what’s wrong with it . Thanks for a clear and easy to understand explanation.

I have a 2000 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8 L. 225,000 miles, replaced cam and crank sensors.. awhile back..runs good. Now it just stalls while driving and then hard cranks to start back...(for about 3 weeks now)I have checked the fuel pump relay and it is okay. After a lot of research on this matter..you hit the number one issue "stalls while driving" which I thought it could be the fuel pump as well. because it just runs to good otherwise. Does not use or leak oil for that many miles and I love the car...so I will be purchasing a fuel pump and installing this week...Thank you for your expert advice..

This was so helpful. My 94 Toyota pickup got a new batteries after sitting for a while and drove but was hesitating and stuttering. Now it won’t start and there is no fuel coming through the fuel filter.

Very good... My 1995 ford ranger would just cut off driving along... Then it would turn over,, but not start.. I took the core out of the test port,, turned the switch on ... no gas come out the test port.. replaced the in-tank fuel pump.. good to go..

Quick update I was calling around getting quotes for repair and one mechanic asked if my oil was low? He said if it was to top it off and give a go. I’m happy to say it worked I was a little low on oil and after I topped it off so far no more problems

You drive around without checking the oil?

Robert DIY I didn’t check the oil cause I had it changed about 2 months ago. Now I have to figure out where I’m burning oil cause it’s not leaving spots on my driveway.
@RobertDIY6 жыл бұрын
You should check oil no less than monthly. If you are burning oil, weekly until you figure out how much you are using. Measure oil loss by miles not time/days.

Robert DIY yeah I didn’t know I was burning oil I’ve never had any problems with the car. Thanks for the tips though. The whole thing just caught me off guard.

All five symptoms.. Got em.. And now ,after getting gritty, greasy and dirty in my driveway I have a 270k motor that starts immediately, accelerates like I never knew it could and leaves me awaiting the next breakdown. Likely cv joints. Thanks for the tips. Good things to you

Great job.. 2005 Nissan Altima Se 3.5... 210k. 5 to 7 mins in, car goes into limp mode, after a few pumps of the gas it will eventually catch back up to normal. Replaced throttle body and mass air flow already. New spark plugs.

Your video tells all the symptoms and my car seems to have most of them. It's 94 Camry XLE,6cyl. with 259,000 on it. My car died several times yesterday, 3 of which it started again, with difficulty, but finally the 4th time, it would not start and died in the middle of the road on a corner. Luckily 2 motorists(men) got out to push my car to the side of the road. Very scary to get stuck like that. I had it towed to a local shop. He doesn't think it's fuel pump, but months ago, when towed to Toyota they said it was sending unit, inside fuel pump, but didn't have part. Got it towed home. Been months since this car died repeatedly yesterday. Started back in August, on a 30 mile journey on the freeway, died after I was at destination, over an hour before it would start. Drove it home. Went to Sears, thought it was their battery causing problem, they said, No, it's intermittent problem with solenoid in Alternator, couldn't fix it, as they were closing, so I drove home, it didn't stall. I just want to fix it once and for all. I think your helpful tips, tell me it IS the Fuel pump. Sometimes when I turn the key, I hear nothing, and nothing happens. 2nd try, it turns over twice and starts, maybe with a little hesitation. But generally does not hesitate when driving. Yesterday was the worst, and had some balking, (lurching) backing out of my driveway. Could it also be the fuel filter, are they close to each other in the car? Neither have been changed as far as I know.

Awesome answer, and this sounds like our problem. Most have told us that our issues relates to a weak battery or alternator, and had us chasing our tail. These systems on our car are fine.
