could you please do a tutorial about making EMC compliant layouts? This topic seems to be missing in your video archive.

This is a good video, really strict way of thinking saves alot of time redoing boards or finding out things doesn't work.

For the feedback line, I'd add a small 22pF decoupling cap, if the IC is slow enough to not have an issue with a little LP filtering.

Regarding via in pad, it can make manufacturing more expensive; so, if you can avoid it by doing something like a fanout, despite growing a bit in size you might save some money.

Definitely do not use it. It is one of those things that seems nice in theory, but not in practise. The hole in the middle of the pad may suck solder away from where it is needed, and result in insufficient solder for the pin.

Thank you, Robert. Very nice of you to put it time on it.

Great inputs RF. Very difficult to get this kind of information by reading layout guidelines. Your explanation is to the point.

I would probably do some mistakes. Component placement is very decisive, and it is best to be well done in the first time. However, it is not easy to do on that board, for that chip. That particular chip is very challenging. Anyway, excellent series so far!

Hi, Robert, I see you use both CADENCE ORCAD and ALTIUM. Have you done any conversion of a project done in ALTIUM to CADENCE ORCAD? How is the result? Is it direct or do we have to fix many things? Thanks

Altium Schematic -> OrCAD Schematic: A lot of fixing needed. Especially ports are not imported correctly and also text is moved and has not correct fonts. There are some mistakes in connections (have to be corrected). To make it look nice it is a lot of work (depends on number of pages). Altium PCB -> Allegro. The physical layout itself was imported ok. I just had to re-assign some VIAs and move a few polygons. However, you need to re-create almost all the rules again and biggest work is silkscreen and text.
