What I enjoy most is that a great artist like Marzullo is still searching and learning like the rest of us. It's in showing how he does this; how he focuses and keeps his cool during the proces is what truly inspires me. Thanks to someone like Rob, these are very interesting times to live in. We all get to have the best teachers! Woohoo :D

Really glad you use the iPad and the Procreate App. Just like traditional drawing only easier to erase and start something over. As usual more great information and fun to see you working things through.

Hey can you give us some tips and tricks on how to draw backgrounds for different camera angles? Like two people in the same room moving around and how the background changes with their positions.

Good idea Hillary. I will do my best to add some videos on that subject real soon. Thanks for watching!

Can you teach us how to cross hatching? Your method seems very good but is there a criterion to know in what direction should you stroke the lines?

Funny thing...I've been hammering in anatomy books and Michael Hampton's anatomy course into my head for a month now. My figures look like people but now I want it to look comic booky. I can see it's all in the shading from what you're doing. Improper and exaggerated anatomy looks so much better than properly done in my opinion.

Agreed. You have to take what is really there and implement your style or it can be a bit boring to look at. Thanks for your comment!

Hey Rob I loved the video! I’m not sure if you’ll see this because it’s an older video with a later comment but if you do please would you consider doing a video or lesson on Skillshare for detailing and shading the serratus muscles and obliques? I find them very difficult to shade without looking clunky and off. Thanks again!

Good information. Thanks Rob. I was wondering if you could do a video about feet in the different planes of view and how do you give the sense of them being solidly grounded on the floor no matter what angle you are viewing them from. It doesn't have to be bare feet, any type of shoe or boot would work for the purpose of the video. Thanks.

Since I only own a Ipad Pro and use that to draw on I prefer these type of videos, great job man!! the top view is IMO way better than just a recording. I would love a series like this where you break down the bigger parts of the human figure, I saw our video on the Stylized eye as well and the improved my drawing as well :) One question do you just us the basic preset brush here? I find my lines to look really bad and can never refine them.

Rob, First I love that you shot it this way so we could see you draw on the ipad. It looked great and I could see everything very well. I wanted to ask what screen protector you are using. It sounded like it had a texture to it. When I draw on mine it is very slick and I would love to have a bit of "feel" to it. Are you using a screen protector? If so what brand or kind are you using, and I guess does it have a bit of texture? Sorry so many questions too. Last one would you mind sharing your procreate file for this lesson? That is if you still have it? Just wanted to tell you that I am going through your skillshare courses and have been learning and been enjoying them immensely.
@RobertMarzullo7 жыл бұрын
I put a link in the video description to the screen protector that I use. It works extremely well and has already saved my device once from my son who took a pumpkin carving knife to it as we were creating our Halloween decorations. Highly recommend the Tech-Armor screen protectors! The anti-glare finish seems to give it more grip as well when drawing. Really glad you like the video. I will be doing more in this format very soon. Thanks for watching! :)

Hey Robert, I know you do amazing work on the iPad pro, but in your honest opinion, can you get that same level of detail and quality work on a surface pro, say 3, 4 or book?
@RobertMarzullo7 жыл бұрын
I wish I could help you but I cannot confidently say since I have never used the Surface Pro. I would say yes based upon the quality of the work that others have done on that device but always remember it is the artist and not the device. Over time you will master any tool and create great art but the learning curve will vary of course. Good luck to you and thank you for watching!

Hey Jeff I meant to ask you on the other page where yo answered a question for me... Is there any huge performance difference between the IPad Pro 12.9 first gen with the 128gb vs the 12.9 second gen one with the 256gb? Other than the storage space. Was wondering about speed since the second gen I think has a better processor..

Should I buy the second generation of Ipad or the first generation will be enough?
@byte26007 жыл бұрын
I have a first gen Ipad Pro and it works great with procreate. No lag or anything. I will say that I bought the 9.5 inch and I wish that I had gotten the 13 inch. I went for the 10 for the better screen resolution, but the larger had more memory which allows for double the layers that I get. So for procreate yes processor is important but memory is more important. First gen ipad pro processor runs procreate like a dream, it is all about memory and layer limit. hope this helps!

Thanks for the answer, this will definitely help.
