In this video, Robert will bring you along with him as he continues the construction process for his outdoor lounge shed. Robert also shares his perspective about how he was able to tackle such a large task that was challenging and new to him that can be applied to any project.

Looks like an adventure. We bought our big shed which my S/O uses for her art studio. It's for the most part, off-grid with a mini-split. I did add my own pretty large Ryobi rechargeable/electric tool shed workshop next to it, also solar-powered, which was my big adventure. Still slightly a work-in-progress. Watching your rain-barrel videos closely now, as we get ready to consolidate our 4 barrels for household irrigation.

Big fan. Really like the all videos, would love to have seen how you set up and levelled your concrete footers before constructing the base. Keep up the good work.

Thanks and yes I wish I had taken more time to get some video footage. After trying different techniques found online, I ended up just investing in an affordable 360 laser level that could be mounted on a tripod.

Watching you work was like watching myself. I do a lot of my work alone, because I need the challenges and it get's me so me time. I'm just about finished with a bathroom remodel that was the hardest jobs I've ever done. I will be building my shed/outdoor party area at some point. Thanks for the inspiration!

I like the idea of a party area. What was the hardest part for the bathroom remodel that you ran into?

@@GreenTechTown Tile work, mostly shower area because I ripped out the old bathtub / shower and turned it into a full shower with a built in seat, a wide niche and three shower heads. The tiles go all the way up to the ceiling. One shower head is a rainfall in the center of the shower near the ceiling. Then there is the main front shower head, and then a hand held wand. I haven't finished yet, I'm cleaning grout lines. I'll need a glass shower door before we can use it. It's been a long wait for this bathroom because I started it in 2020! But we had a pipe burst in the kitchen floor (pipes in cement pad) that turned into a total ceiling to floor make over, which I did everything but install the countertops. So then I kept going with the flooring into the dinning and living rooms. Of course I had to redo the stairs in the hallway while I was at it. So yeah I like the challenge of doing this, but I've learned that it's very hard to do while working a full time job. But the house needed it. The house was still stuck in the 80's, but not anymore.😁

I just put together a greenhouse kit so the timing of this is perfect haha. Of course the kit was somewhat easier than following plans like you did here, since all the parts were included, but it was the first structure of any size I’ve ever built and a huge learning experience. I also had to research a base for it and implement that on my own, since the kit assumed a base was already in place. It’s really fun to see what you can do, I agree that anyone who is thinking about a large project but letting self-doubt and what-ifs get in the way should just give it their best shot, having prepared properly and done their research. With that experience under my belt, I am able to think about what I would do differently and what I might want to do next. Edited to add: Looking forward to the rest of this build!

Nice video. One suggestion: Instead of hammering nails by hand, you could have used your nailer. Just use 2" nails instead of the 3"

I think this was a great video. nice impact shat, too. You used a lot of small ideas we seem to forget. For instance like setting up your braces to slide along with you as you raised the walls, put blocks in so your spacings were consistent. All things we take for granted, but seem to forget when we are doing our own projects. And definitely the use of clamps as another set of hands!! Excellent job, Thank you.
