Hey everyone! I messed up! I assumed the voice of the clip at 6:25, was that of the person who posted it. The message that was in that post, I absolutely loved and that message was so wonderfully worded by a creator called @misspersephone on TikTok 🖤 vm.tiktok.com/ZMebQR3nB/

I mean not really. Natural makeup looks have always been a thing, except it means differently in every culture. It's just whether or not it's the #1 influence in the world by the westernized culture. The majority of k-beauty makeup trends have always been about subtle and natural specifically with eyebrows, foundation, and concealer. I do think Robert is one of the few popular westernized mua who didn't bash another cultures interpretation of natural makeup, and would actually wear natural looking makeup. Natural has a different meaning in both cultures. But now western culture is starting to change their definition of natural makeup from the influence of k-beauty! Not a bad thing. Makeup is supposed to evolve. But it's common for westernized makeup to be known as the creator worldwide even though it was based from another culture. I do think Robert is innovative, informative and dynamic with the makeup he does! Natural beauty that he does is becoming a thing in western culture. But has always been a thing elsewhere. It's just who gets the platform to spread it worldwide! :)

Even if some beauty gurus don't use filters, the ring light can make their skin look flawless. This is incredibly uplifting and motivational. No one has truly "perfect" skin; no one ever has, and no one ever will. It's about time we all stop putting ourselves down for being *human* and start appreciating how amazing our skin really is, "faults" and all.

I grew up as a teenager in the 80s, we didn't have any filters or video or anything like that. To me, flawless makeup is a put together beautiful face of makeup. I have always used the outside light to do my makeup. Texture will never go away, we never worried about texture. Just as long as our makeup looked pretty is all we worried about. These younger girls learning from the videos are, to me, learning a lot of wrong ways to do makeup. I have always applied my foundation all over my face the first thing, then I did my eyes, contour, blush then lips were always last. Old habits die hard lollolol

The lipstick hack, I learned it from Michelle Phan before. The thin layer of tissue then powder. The exact hack that you were talking about. 😊 Nostalgic. I wish you were already here when she left before, I could've saved a lot of makeup. 😂 Other makeup gurus that came after her were mostly into wasting a lot of products. 😅

I kind of hate when people with a lot of lip fillers give tips for bigger lips. I mean ok, some of these tips do work, but it comes off kind of weird.. Like of course your lips look really big in the end, you got fillers.. 🌚

So I get where the girl was coming from with her eyebrow routine back. I do my eyebrows first in my routine and my product tends to slip and not stick to my bare skin/I don’t get sharp lines. What I like to do is take a little bit of translucent setting powder with a dense brush and press it into the area around my brow tail then take whatever is left and blend it into my brows. It allows my product to stick and get sharp edges and works great cuz I rarely wear foundation. So that’s what she was getting at, but I think the excess use of product was a bit much and could cause texture and break up throughout the day.

I'm trying to get back into my love for makeup after hardly using it for almost 2 years. I reallyyy appreciate the tik tok discussing how texture is normal and makeup will always look like makeup. Throughout 2019 until about halfway through 2020 I struggled with a lot more acne than i ever had in the past, everytime I put makeup on top I felt like I looked 10 times worse. Its been nearly a year that my acne has started to get better but I still deal with a lot of texture and discoloration. I was always after the baby soft look that really doesn't even exist. Perfection doesn't exist! It's silly how easy it is to forget that

A lot of people are amused by his reaction to the eyebrow hack but honestly I think it seemed really appropriate and I'm really glad he included it, because what he was basically saying was that he hadn't seen this done before and therefore couldn't really comment on whether it will work for anyone but this person. It was just nice to see a reflection of how makeup as an artform is constantly evolving and that means sometimes, even though you know a lot about it, you will still encounter new techniques you don't fully understand sometimes

The thing that the girl was saying about skin texture is so true! I'm also like that with my "dark circles". They're barely visible, but I love them so much! They give my face personality and always make my face look cuter in a way. My eyes look like they're constantly smiling because of them. I could never cover them up. I always leave skin texture and dark circles in my pics.

So I need to give an updated opinion on the girl who had the perfect foundation advice. I thought she was using a filter, however, I recently started using TikTok, and when making my first video... there seems to be a blur on the camera already? The sound on the second video was not out of sync. On TikTok you can use other people's sounds and voice-overs on your own videos. I believe the woman talking about skin texture also used someone else's sound. That is how people recreate videos or react to the sound or make something completely different with an unrelated sound. Hope this helps, welcome to TikTok 😊

Yes yes YES! I just quite recently discovered that slightly contouring that indentation above the cupid's bow works really well for my lips. What I hate about these contouring hacks videos is that they advertise one technique like it's going to work for everyone. But that's just not how it works. Depending on individual anatomy and the effect you want to achieve you have to contour differently (when I say contour that includes bronzer, blush and highlighter as well). For example those vertical lines on the sides of the bridge of the nose that are suppposed to be slimming will make a long nose appear even longer and, in my case, accentuate a bony nose. ON ME I prefer to shade the underside of the tip of my nose to lightly lift it and shorten my nose. Love your videos, Robert. xxx
