I mean not really. Natural makeup looks have always been a thing, except it means differently in every culture. It's just whether or not it's the #1 influence in the world by the westernized culture. The majority of k-beauty makeup trends have always been about subtle and natural specifically with eyebrows, foundation, and concealer. I do think Robert is one of the few popular westernized mua who didn't bash another cultures interpretation of natural makeup, and would actually wear natural looking makeup. Natural has a different meaning in both cultures. But now western culture is starting to change their definition of natural makeup from the influence of k-beauty! Not a bad thing. Makeup is supposed to evolve. But it's common for westernized makeup to be known as the creator worldwide even though it was based from another culture. I do think Robert is innovative, informative and dynamic with the makeup he does! Natural beauty that he does is becoming a thing in western culture. But has always been a thing elsewhere. It's just who gets the platform to spread it worldwide! :)

So I get where the girl was coming from with her eyebrow routine back. I do my eyebrows first in my routine and my product tends to slip and not stick to my bare skin/I don’t get sharp lines. What I like to do is take a little bit of translucent setting powder with a dense brush and press it into the area around my brow tail then take whatever is left and blend it into my brows. It allows my product to stick and get sharp edges and works great cuz I rarely wear foundation. So that’s what she was getting at, but I think the excess use of product was a bit much and could cause texture and break up throughout the day.

I would really love a full video on doing the “facelift” placement and see how you apply/blend out on one half of your face and then a more “normal” application on another half.

Found my new favorite beauty KZbinr!! I stopped watching beauty videos about a year ago because I was so over all the ig makeup tips and tricks. But what a breathe of fresh air Robert is, honest and polite with amazing tips that ACTUALLY make my application better

Can you explain this to me I didn't quite understand that
@DaraJill3 жыл бұрын
@@aanchalgupta894 it's reference to a Vogue get ready video where Gwyneth said she only put sunscreen on like her forehead and her cheek bones because that's where the sun hit the hardest...James has a video about it on his channel.

The background? I love it! The eyebrows? I love it? The subtle shade towards the girl who was clearly using a filter whne talking about "flawless foundation" I LOVE IT!!!!!

I hate trends so much and some of this hacks on tiktok are so annoying 😩 😂
@Braxiatel_3 жыл бұрын
A lot of people are amused by his reaction to the eyebrow hack but honestly I think it seemed really appropriate and I'm really glad he included it, because what he was basically saying was that he hadn't seen this done before and therefore couldn't really comment on whether it will work for anyone but this person. It was just nice to see a reflection of how makeup as an artform is constantly evolving and that means sometimes, even though you know a lot about it, you will still encounter new techniques you don't fully understand sometimes

The thing that the girl was saying about skin texture is so true! I'm also like that with my "dark circles". They're barely visible, but I love them so much! They give my face personality and always make my face look cuter in a way. My eyes look like they're constantly smiling because of them. I could never cover them up. I always leave skin texture and dark circles in my pics.

So I need to give an updated opinion on the girl who had the perfect foundation advice. I thought she was using a filter, however, I recently started using TikTok, and when making my first video... there seems to be a blur on the camera already? Like a pre set filter... or just really low quality? I’m not sure! I have TikTok now! Follow me @RobertwelshMUA ! I’ll be sharing all my tips with you and trying all those makeup “hacks” 😑 🖤🖤🖤

The sound on the second video was not out of sync. On TikTok you can use other people's sounds and voice-overs on your own videos. I believe the woman talking about skin texture also used someone else's sound. That is how people recreate videos or react to the sound or make something completely different with an unrelated sound. Hope this helps, welcome to TikTok 😊

I have a lot of texture on my face and large pores. When I saw a pic of Megan Fox with the same skin texture as me, it really helped me. Thank you for being realistic because social media and KZbin has become very fake.

I wear a lot of black lipstick, if you blot it with a tissue, touch up whatever comes off, then do the powder trick it works great to stop the feathering and if you blend it in it looks flawless and doesn't really budge

I dont mind texture in my foundation, but i want as little as possible. My mine problem is when i first started with makeup i had flawless skin so my foundation actually looked airbrushed back then. Sadly age said no more flawless skin for you
@juniperdovah3 жыл бұрын
That sucks because the last hack does actually help me personally. It's not super flawless but it looks the best imo. Also loved that girl's video about texture! Bravo!

Oo I'm early early. The whole texture thing is why I don't wear foundation in the first place, I feel like it accentuates my flaws rather than showcases my skin

Yes yes YES! I just quite recently discovered that slightly contouring that indentation above the cupid's bow works really well for my lips. What I hate about these contouring hacks videos is that they advertise one technique like it's going to work for everyone. But that's just not how it works. Depending on individual anatomy and the effect you want to achieve you have to contour differently (when I say contour that includes bronzer, blush and highlighter as well). For example those vertical lines on the sides of the bridge of the nose that are suppposed to be slimming will make a long nose appear even longer and, in my case, accentuate a bony nose. ON ME I prefer to shade the underside of the tip of my nose to lightly lift it and shorten my nose. Love your videos, Robert. xxx
