Things have changed in perfumery Mark, same as the fashion world is changing. People demand strong, beast, modern fragrances, and those are criteria where Quentin Bisch stands out. Amouage changed as well, as they wont sell stuff. We all know that niche perfumery at this moment of time is almost non existent, everything is mass production, there are not too many houses like andy tauer, parfums d empire, serge lutens anymore. Even Francesca Bianchi released mass appealing oud fragrance last year. Indie is new niche. Crowd has always bought fragrances to smell good, Amouage - Guidance does that, and has fantastic performance, so everyone around you can smell you, and when a normal person is paying 500$ for a fragrance, thats what they expect. Smell good and be noticed. Stay safe in 2025

Of the new Amouages, I was really impressed with Material. Somewhere between Grand Soir and Ambre Sultan. I recommend checking it out

I personally really like Guidance on my wife, it smells better than most of her designers and it lasts the whole day. It may not be the most intricate or groundbreaking release but it just smells great to me (and her). I wish she'd get Overture Woman but she isn't a big fan of that one 😂 Its my favorite Amouage that's marketed for women. Cheers Mark, keep the videos coming and happy new year 🎉

Happy New Year to the channel! 😊 Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this scent! I haven't tried it yet, but my favorite Amouage marketed for women is Crimson Rocks. It's a beautiful authentic oily rose, cinnamon, and a big dose of amazingly made cedar!

Appreciate your take. It’s a very decisieve fragrance. So understand you don’t like it as much as other offerings in the womens bottles. It is indeed less natural smelling, but disagree about the light fragrance comment and the fact you consider it a designer. Please revisit it and give it some wears at some point. Curious if your impression will change.

Everything Amouage I've smelled (and I've smelled everything) since the release of Boundless and Material (which are good Tobacco Vanille and Ambre Sultan riffs) has been disappointing, except the Opus line with Silver Oud and Royal Tobacco which I consider to be masterpieces. The main line with their Purposes, Guidances, Meanders, etc, meandered straight into mediocrity, or worse. I still remember the excited look on SA's face when she introduced Search as "the first fresh Amouage scent!", I was like - "That's a good thing? Huh?". Even the new bottles for Reasons, etc, scream of what "bland mediocre manager might think is classy/artsy". But the effect of releasing designer-esque fragrances to characterless mob that can now, with confidence, defend their beloved Amouage, that they, a second ago, found too challenging to even consider, cannot be overstated - beware of those, they would kill on Salmon's command. Same goes for Quentin Akigalawood's hype fans.

Hello mister, top review - I do not like Q B either .. so mainstream. Do you plan to review Jubilation 40 or Reflection 45 anytime soon? I am curious to see what will you say about those Amouages. Now they released a Bisch sweet thing Purpouse 50 at 500€ .. weird are the ways of perfume houses. By the way, the new Dior Homme Parfum ?? I have a video about it.

Happy New Year, Marc! While I agree that there were some amazingly complex and unique fragrances from the Christopher Chong era, and that most of the releases post CC are simpler by nature, I disagree about Guidance. I think it's only one that's different enough and not as mass appealing to qualify as an Amouage, from amongst the recent releases. I'm not Bisch bitch either so while I appreciate his work, I've sold and rehomed most of his creations that I owned. When Guidance came out, there was a lot of hype around it but as soon it started circulating widely in fragcom, it garned as much hate as it did love and is now considered a very divisive fragrance.. people either love it or hate it which is in line with old Amouages. And also I don't know how you got soft from it. I could smell it as soon as the cellophane came off, even before I opened box and it lasts for days. Imho, it's quite amazing and you should revisit it 😊

I still need to try this one. In fact, the only one of the newer Amouage scents I've tried is Search. Persolaise loves it, so I had high expectations. While I agree with his sentiment that it is quite unique, I just cannot handle the charred lemon note. The lemon is very reminiscent of Pledge (furniture polish) , and the addition of the ash really did not help it. This one, on the other hand, sounds quite nice. While some of Bisch's can be somewhat redundant, I don't fault him for having a certain palette that he likes to use, and I tend to like akigalawood.

Please try overture woman it is insanely good, the mens one is one of my fav fragrances but there's something about the womens one where it felt like i was smelling something new, not sure if it would be the same for someone who has smelled thousands of fragrances though.

I'm going to have to disagree on this one. I'm not a fan of akigalawood as a rule, but enjoy this. The whole flanker/extrait line is pure Salmon laziness. This one seems to be a love or a hate for most people, but it works well on me.

It’s unisex leaning feminine. Also marketed as unisex by Amouage. I do consider this a daily/ signature for women and more of a stand out or special occasion scent for men, but that’s personal.

@@2lowkey100 We are all allowed to have different opinions. If you like these two perfumers then that's great. Enjoy them. Personally I don't particularly like anything they've done yet. Both opinions are correct for each of us. It's as simple as that. There's nothing 'cool or interesting' about it. There's really no need to get upset that someone doesn't agree with you.
