Rob mate, you’re a gem. Thanks so much for the shout out and kind words. You’ve no idea how much of an influence you’ve been on my playing so to hear you say these words means a lot. Love the podcast. Talk soon my friend. Cheers Nick

Hey Rob, just wanted to say I have loved your guitar playing for years and I completely resonate with how you've described your relationship with music and playing guitar. I started when I was 16 and when I was shown my first chords I looked up from the guitar and the world looked different. I knew then nothing would ever be the same for me again. Aside from that this has been an amazing podcast talking about stress and how we handle it. Really enjoyed it man and keep going. love your channel

62 years old guitar player here from the UK, playing since age 13, still chasing the notes, don’t spend too much time on gear I just love the learning process. It’s my yoga. Cheers Rob.

A profound and, as ever, inspirational episode. Very thought provoking. Still practicing my timing and rhythm (and singing intervals!). Thanks Rob. Andy

Hi Rob! Thank you for the shout out to GünterGunter and the band members :-) I can relate to sooo many things on this podcast. I would not be the person I am today if I would not have started music since I was a first grader (and even used my jump rope at the age of 3 or 4 as a microphone to pretend I am a singer). Music was there in all the good and bad times in my life either comforting me as a listener or getting my mind free actively making music. And the icing on the cake is that I was very fortunate to make so many friends around the world because of music. Thank you for your very open and personal podcast. I always love your podcasts but this one hit me on my sweet spot. Thank you. Hugs Werner

What a great subject to discuss. The story about that difficult moment in your life with your mom was very touching and it wasn’t bringing the Podcast down but very uplifting. Like you say, your Podcast and you can talk about whatever you want.

I've played guitar on my own throughout my life, as a way to escape and be immersed in the music that I love. I've often thought that being in a band or writing songs would completely change that, so I've resisted. I wonder if the narrative to progress into performing and producing is unnecessary. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting discussion on the subject of why people play an instrument. I really agree on the point of how time disappears when playing …it is a very useful hobby for staying mentally young (I’m in my late 60’s) …funnily though there is some stress from the frustration of the SLOW learning speed to improving … I expect this is the same as many an amateur guitar player…! And I guess not a big factor for yourself(?)

As a non drinker, playing the Guitar is a means of escapism for me, I’d recommend it

You English speakers are blessed that in your language, the act of playing music is described with the verb "to play." And playing is always for fun. It's not the same in Spanish, we say "tocar música" (touch music 🤷♂️) Although making music is universally fun and helps heal any wound of the soul regardless where you're from and what language you speak. Thanks for your podcast, Rob! Please keep on! Greetings from South America!

Music is meditation. Listening/playing in the moment so deeply that thoughts disappear. Safer than extreme sports.
