Appreciate you watching this and enjoying the humor; without being judgmental! Robin Williams was a real one!! He was frequently known to request that homeless people be on his set to work; once, as his doubled!😮😮 He was a real human!! Shouldn’t that be what we are supposed to be about???

Just look at how much energy he exudes in that short clip, now extend that for about two hours and you know why there’s so many water bottles. 🙂 Rest In Peace, Robin. 🐐

Typically a touring performer's contract has a rider- a list of special requirements, like that rock band with "NO Brown M&M's". I'm sure his specified a certain number of bottles of water, after some time when he ran out onstage. Can you imagine- you're imagination is in full run mode, you feel thirsty, you turn to get a drink, and there isn't any? Do you stop the show? Declare an intermission? Charge offstage and search till you find one? Or try to go on, distracted by thirst and maybe, if it's bad enough, unable to talk?

Robin Williams' autopsy revealed he had Lewy Body Dementia. It's a progressive disease and most people only live between five to eight years from the time of diagnosis. Mr. Williams had made a career from his quick wit, rapid fire delivery, and physical comedy. Dementia would have taken all of that away. He would have experienced muscle rigidity, tremors, loss of coordination, insomnia, delusions, paranoia, hallucinations, fainting, incontinence, and loss of memory to name a few symptoms. As someone who has worked with dementia patients, it would have been a horrible for his fans to watch and even worse for him to experience. Mr. Williams chose to live and die on his own terms.
@ddwm_mua2 жыл бұрын
@@lynnhathaway3755 isn't dementia the worst kind of thief? I'm not sure if it is Lewy, but we're currently dealing with my uncle's dementia and it's terrible. It takes a very special person to work with dementia patients. Our families thank you.

I actually went to Scotland and was drinking in a pub with my friends, when a bunch of Scottish blokes wanted to party with us. It was the fourth of July. So there were about 10 of us lighting off Roman candles in a field and one guy played the "Star Spangled Banner" on his bagpipes. No other fireworks celebration has matched that night.

I worked with a Scottish lad over in Germany back in '89. A whole crew of us went to Oktoberfest and he left us to watch his beloved Glasgow Rangers play FC Bayern. Sober, he was actually easier to understand than the two Welsh guys we worked with. He showed up to train station hooting and hollering with barely 10 minutes to spare. I swear he sounded just like Robin at the start of the segment... Great times!!!

Water bottles- this was the first concert recording after a stint in rehab. Sorely missed. After Bob Hope passed, he took over on the record number of times he did USO tours overseas for our troops, visiting wounded mostly without any publicity. There are videos of concerts at FOBS in the sandbox one especially when Colors sound and the entire audience stands up and faces away from him. Classic and classy. Side note: number 2 on number of USO tours list is Stevie Nicks.
