Quick suggestion. I think the captain needs a quick way to get in and out of the bridge. Like a metal door where the technic brick is (right side) or a ladder and a door in front of the bridge instead of one of the windows. Either way the build looks awesome so far!

Yes it's not easy with big glass pieces and twin funnels. That's partially why I added the trapdoor. With more space it'd be a great addition!

GREAT idea for a MOC build Robin! I also remember that old school 4030 ship from my childhood - what a great thing it was in it's time. So diggin' the nostalgia feels here, but I do very much like the modernization of it. I personally would include the Seaways stickers myself. Can't wait to see part 2!

Awesome video as always! Thanks! In real life, the sloped windows reduce reflection inside, so you can see out more at night, so slopes to the front would be useful! However, I like the look, it's a unique build, so I'd leave it.

Fantastic MOC Robin! I think it's magnificent. I think you should try the City seaways stickers and just see what it looks like. Or.. instead put it on a 1x4 tile and replace the transport tile with the city seaways logo. I really love the wheel house but I feel that the captain needs more of a view ahead of him as well. I suggest maybe getting another one of those ship window pieces like you used on the sides. You would have to modify the roof a little bit unfortunately plus it would protrude forward giving the front of the bridge of the ship some different angles than being a flat front. I can't wait to see the rest of this build. Your videos always spark some creative juices to flow. Great video my friend, keep up the fantastic work.

I think the top of the wheel house needs a bit more red- maybe that top white strip plate as red to get the white details to pop a bit more. I like the out taper of the sides of the wheel house and those white side rails look good. Would sticking a trans blue stud on the inside of those white porthole pieces be noticeable? That could help sell that they have glass in them. I think the limited use of yellow gives the impression of brass and fits well with keeping to some of the feel of the old sets being built with limited colors. Plus it pops really well against the other colors on the ship.

Perhaps you can cut the blue bit off the stickers but on the other hand it is a shame to do that. One small possible amendment is to add an old grey ladder piece towards the top of the wheel house. really cool can't wait for Part 2 and 3

Love the concept. Would like to see a full height first floor on the wheelhouse. It would give another spot for a minifig and give you more height. When you only did half a first floor, I thought you would stack 2 full floors on top of it. It looks nice having a shorter wheelhouse, because there's not much in the front to back dimension, but if you look at real ships, the wheelhouse are strangely tall, seeming out-of-proportion for how shallow their depth is.

Sorry, Robbin, but the wheelhouse isn't quite right. The windows at the front should be bigger. You want to be able to see as much as possible, without blind spots. The sides may even be slightly wider, so that you can see next to the ship itself. And usually the extension of the bridge is open.
@RobinHoodBricks

You should remove the navigation lights (red and green) from the rear of the superstructure. You're not supposed to see navigation lights from the back of the vessel, only the white stern lights and the white (and possibly red) mast lights. This is so that in the dark and from afar you'll know where the vessel is facing, having red and green navigation lights facing astern , and in reverse order is just odd and confusing.
@raymundoii
@raymundoii 2 жыл бұрын
Basically you're only supposed to see both the red and green lights when you're facing the ship head on. Meaning if you're in another vessel heading straight for red and green lights, you're in a collision course.
