Have same boat. transom tore just like yours. used that flex tape. However used it on all seams as it could tear at another seam while u r on water! also I leave it assembled all the time now so as not to stress seams anymore . mine is 15 years old and bought for about what u paid for, used. enjoy your boating adventures!

Flex tape is advertised as only "temporary". Eternabond is a more permanent fix.

Eternabond is recommended by Porta-Bote for transom tears. I used Gorilla Roofing tape since it was cheaper and all the Home Depot had. But it was just for reinforcement on my boat.

Maybe Flex Seal will help instead of duct tape?
