S8 pro ultra has already been in asia for quite awhile. You won't regret this buy. I've slight ocd and used to vacuum every single day even unused rooms. s8 pretty much made me forget about the cleaning part because i can just set it up to work when i goes to work. Just need to clean it once a week.

Love this comparison! I was an early adopter of iRobot but IMO Roborock is way ahead of them at this point. I wouldn’t go back. They only thing I’m hoping to see is the possibility of replacing the battery and other parts as one can do with iRobots. This kind of money is a lot to spend if the machine is rendered useless once the battery goes.

I have the Roomba J7+ with the dual rollers and even though its suction is low, compared to the high-end vacuums - it does a great job. So I do believe that the dual rollers makes a huge difference. Roborock was the first to jump in after the iRobot patent expired and I expect all others to follow in the future.

Really appreciate this review. With so many options out there, it's difficult being sure I'm comparing the right differences on all the devices. The trials you put them through really do help me understand the pros & cons. This latest model looks like a great bit of kit and I am particularly impressed not just with it's level of cleaning but the way it cleans itself afterwards. I have an early model and learnt pretty quickly that I really needed to wash the mop pad pretty quickly after use... Great that this one cleans and dries the mop pad. I'm in the Waikato and my long haired beastie would give this Roborock model a heck of a workout. Thanks for the advice.

This would be so amazing for my home with my messy puppy! The dual roller brushes look great for pet hair. And how great that it automatically switches between mop and vacuum! Great that it maps out the house. And it empties itself! Wow.

Videos like these are quite helpful when researching for robot vacuums for the first time. It seems like it would not be a big difference compared to the previous model especially when I only have hard flooring. This seems like it would be a great time saver since I am quite lazy when it comes to vacuuming the house.

Really great video. Liked the idea of showing how it performs on spills left to sit over night as this is possibly more true to real use case where you may not notice you've spilt something and sits till next scheduled run of the vac. Have been trying to decide between the 'Dreame L10s Ultra' (looking forward to your coming review), 'Ecovacs X1 Omni', or the 'Roborock S8 Pro Ultra'. After your Roborock S7 vs Ecovacs X1 video I'm defiantly leaning toward the Roborock, specifically the S8 Pro Ultra based on the improvements like dual roller and included mop drying function you've highlighted, but at looking at spending AU$2699 it's a scary choice to make. I'd be really interested in knowing if you have any test results from use on 'Loop Pile' style carpet, as your videos look like you've only tested on 'Cut Pile' style. Have you noticed any difference between use of synthetic vs wool carpet? Any static creation or damage to fibres? How do they perform when mopping on tiled floors with deeper grout grooves or bevelled edge tiles? Would the Ecovacs X1 spinning mop style work better for getting into the lower areas?

Yep! None of the hair was actually very visible on the rug. It’s not like that rug hasn’t been vacuumed - I guess their usual vacuum just sucks 😏

I love to see all the improvements! Built in dryer is great to see. Also, very nice to see that the base is almost fully inclosed. I wish they had a Bagless option for the dock though 😢. I hate the idea of having to look for bags that may be impossible to get down the road.

Great review and test of the vacuum! I am an absolute robot vacuum nerd and I have a very very old Roomba i2. I have been watching videos on the S8 Ultra and I am EXTREMELY impressed! The features just keep getting better and better, and while nothing in the world is perfect, this is about as close as we will get to perfect! The cleaning power, mop abilities, and self cleaning really make this thing a beast of a machine. There are other options out there, yes, but this one really takes every detail to the next level! Great real world comparison! we've just picked up an S7 MaxV (today) and while it's a HUGE investment (1/2 our entire bank account...oops!) I feel like this is an actual life improvement. We work to make money to use to improve our lives, so buyers regret is something to just let go of. First impressions are the Roborock software is VERY easy to use and the S7 has already mapped the house and cleaned it! I Love your channel and seeing the results of the robo vacuums. I recently moved out on my own for the first time ever and am big into trying to keep my home clean! My place is mostly flooring with carpet in the bedrooms, a roborock might be perfect. Having had friends over from the UK for a week has clearly shown us the weakness in our existing vacuum robot. Additional adults and kids leave additional stuff lying around, varying from shoes to clothes, chargers and a lot more spillage. I think this new robot answers every need we could possibly have in such a busy and dynamic environment. Can't wait to get our hands on such an upgrade!

My partner and I lead hectic work lives, and our home has white marble tiles. Since we're away most of the times, the house tends to stay fairly tidy, though our cat and my hair extensions do contribute to some shedding. This robot seems tailor made for our needs. We're not seeking a deep clean, but a swift vacuum and mop would suffice. While it does come with a hefty price tag, we currently spend $500 monthly on a cleaning service. Considering this, the robot could serve as a valuable investment and possibly lead to substantial savings in the long run.

Impressed with the navigation. The main problem that I have with robot vacuum was the navigation as it should avoid items like wires, curtains and chair feet. It takes time to prepare an area prior to cleaning. However, this vacuum appears to avoid things that normally snags other robot vacuum. Self cleaning also gives it a plus. I wonder how it works against a fluffier rug.

Currently doing some robo vaccum research. For almost everything I buy, I look at what the best money can buy before narrowing down to the one that fit my use case and reasonably priced. This brand seems great, ease of usage and most importantly it can be cleaned without much haste as compared to other brands. The robot vacuum that i have, requires me to use a knife to 'cut' the hair out of the brush. Good review and clear explanations.

I am impressed with this robot, and with your test. I was never interested in a robot because I thought I could vacuum and mop better myself. After your video, I see that a robot gets into the corners better and vacuums everything. Also the mopping seems to work perfectly, and doesn't seem to leave streaks, something that is the case with a mop. So I guess S8 gets a new customer, and your video channel a new subscriber.

I have the S7 Ultra after owning the original Xiaomi Mi model and the S5 Max. The room mapping and cleaning algorithms have always impressed me as being superior to other brand vacuums. I am interested to see how they have improved the mopping side of things, as that is one area they could improve on.

Fantastic review. We were really looking to see the performance of the mop and the dock. We're coming from an S6 MaxV which we let clean our entire house every day. It lasted us just over 2 years of nearly every day cleaning before we started having hardware failure in the drive wheels but our main complaint was the mop was useless.

I had two Samsung robot vacuum cleaners 5 years ago; I gave them each a name. i called them bill and Ben and had their names printed on them so i could tell them apart. Unfortunately bill and ben always got lost going back to the base station, I spent more time looking for them under the bed or getting them untangled. Have been on the hunt for a mop and vacuum robot and loved the mop comparison part. Coffee and milk are consumed on a daily basis in my home and therefore spilled often. I've been eyeing the s7 for months but can't justify the cost for now. I would loooooove this! We have a just smart enough robot vacuum that doesn't have lidar but uses sensors to guess its location and resume after a recharge but with 3 kids and a dog having an object detection system and built-in mop would lessen my load greatly- sometimes I won't run our robot because I don't have time to prep the floors for it to run. It also gets stuck often which is frustrating when we aren't home and 20 minutes into a clean I get an alert that it ended job stuck. Thanks for this comparison, these are definitely on my wish list!

Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra looks absolutely fantastic. However, I would have liked it to have had an option to choose between vacuum cleaner bags or a dedicated dust container like the S7+. I have a cat that sheds a lot, so it feels like the vacuum cleaner bags can fill up pretty quickly even in my small apartment. Great Review, it helps a lot!

For the very first time after looking at so many videos on the perfect robot vac and mop. I am very excited, confident and in looking forward to obtaining this product one day. From the newly updated modern design from the S7 to S8, camera, extended water tank. It's the little details that count. Looking forward to this as soon as it comes out.

I really like how the new base looks. The Cover is so much better, than the visible containers. I also love how much more this can do, compared to my 6 year old robot vacuum. This one has more than the double power, the mopping really mops the floor and it cleans itself. So much better!

Very nice. I've got an s6 with the auto empty dock, which I upgraded from an S5. The auto empty is really a killer feature, and I'd love to have the mop cleaning and empty system from the s7 or new s8.

Thanks for producing such a great, informative and inspiring video. It’s fantastic that you were able to use the latest Roborock robot cleaner in a real world environment. It’s a positive improvement over the S7 and I think you did admirably highlighting those differences between the two. I’ve only used the Neato D7 and what I envy with is the fact these modern robots almost take care of themselves. I love the fact they empty dustbin and clean the mops. Thank you again for taking the time and trouble for producing such a great video.

Amazing, I've still got one of the first Mi Robot Vacuums by Roborock, which is still impressive for what it is. But this would be a dream upgrade. Question about the disposable bags, they'd get filled once a week on average? Seems like a lot of replacement bags. Are they locked using NFC or something similar? It would've been good to see a bagless system instead, even if it meant slightly more maintenance due to the lower suction.
