Terrorhurtz wasn't fully together when Team Hurtz arrived at the venue. When Series 7 occurred, there was this "Robots must be completed" clause when the teams competing arrived. No time was given to teams to get their robots completed after arriving. And because Terrorhurtz didn't abide by this "clause", they were disqualified before entering the venue.

I think this heat final shows one of the main flaws in Cassius Chrome's design. The fists are off centre, meaning he has to drive at an angle to attack, he can't drive straight on. Add that to the fact the fists are super weak and do basically zero damage without a ramming run up and you've got a recipe for a failed house robot.

imo the reason big nipper lost the heat final is because the producers chose to have the two most anemic house robots possible in there with them. the way it drove that fight, it really needed better support to swing damage in its favor.

So Paul Snook of Tetanus told me on Facebook that Terrorhurtz actually failed to qualify, but got on TV anyway. He says that Tetanus Booster actually beat him in the qualifiers, and blew his tank. So I'm thinking that part at 11:58 was actually staged for TV viewers. And yet, Terrorhurtz was seeded, so he shouldn't have to go through any qualifier battles. I'll have to ask John Reid. I'm really confused on both stories.

According to Conrad Snook, Tetanus beat Terrorhurtz in the Series 5 qualifiers, when it wasn't seeded. (See the Tetanus Wiki article). Terrorhurtz qualified anyway, and was seeded 3rd for this series after doing so well in Series 6 (and Razer being absent) In this case, the story shown on TV is sort of true; the team showed up before filming began with an incomplete robot, which violated the "all robots must be completed on arrival" clause, leading to Terrorhurtz's disqualification. However, the show tries to portray the events as if an incomplete Terrorhurtz showed up late AFTER being due in the arena, which wasn't the case. The announcer calling its name and JP's confusion were added in post-production. Jayne being at the empty Terrorhurtz bench was probably filmed after the latter's disqualification was announced, and Derek Foxwell dismissing John Reid on camera was probably filmed for drama. I'm still confused as to why they didn't bring in a reserve, which happened several times both before this and in the reboot. At least in Thunderpants' case, it broke down in the entry gate and they had to press on with filming. The producers knew in advance that Terrorhurtz wasn't going to fight and there were plenty of robots around that didn't have a spot in the main competition, seems odd.

What a mixed bag this episode is. Kan Opener has a case of The Razer and simply can't let Barbaric Response go, and for it, both of them go out, which I think is a shame - Barbaric Response was far from a bad robot, and neither is Kan-Opener. This is why we need to make sure pinning rules are enforced. Grumble Grumble. Understandable though - Grim Reaper and Big Nipper put on a right good fight and when it came down to it, you gotta let the ones that are going to put on a show and put effort into their machines go through. Terrorhurtz was not able to enter. Fine, Dominator 2 couldn't either, but why did John Reid have to take part in this song and dance routine instead of shifting the seeds about? Or even put Pulverizer in its' place - the Dutch champion should deserve a seed, no? But no, a chance for Jackson Wallop and Gyrobot to team up on someone who completely missed the point of Pussycat. Funny how everyone goes mad over Gyrobot and it did no damage at all, and Jackson took like, five goes to damage KillerKat. Featherweights... somehow needing THREE house robots in the arena, which don't even pretend to hold back until someone's in the CPZ. Does anyone trust Mentorn with Featherweights in the next season? This sort of dribbling disregard for the entry level machines makes me wonder how well they'll deal with what is actually one of the best weight classes. Gyrobot and GR, really nothing to say. JP trying to big it up though 'oh, Gyrobot getting points for defensiveness there!'. Were Mentorn so god damn scared of their show failing they had to resort to this level of pedantry? Big Nipper and Jackson Wallop - what stopped JW from dropping the bar, bending it or something at ninety degrees to keep the balance but lower the angle of attack? Credit to JW from giving that gash in Shunt's scoop though, it'll carry it for the rest of the series. Big Nipper and Grim Reaper is a pretty good fight, and I agree with Jonathan that I'd have given it to Big Nipper but you can see why it didn't happen that way. While some teams' attempts at being 'quirky' were token, Grim Reaper obviously turned up TRYING to be entertaining and amusing, and since Mentorn are clearly trying to market this as the entertainment show rather than a professional robot combat league, the kid and the zombie eyes and Death himself wins over the three most awkward looking guys from Leeds ever. It's clear they took it well though, but if Heat A only had minor teething issues, this is exactly where Series 7 started to go wrong.

Regarding the Heat Final, I think that Grim Reaper earned the victory. It's difficult to make a call on a fight that goes to the Judges since full matches back in those days were 5 minutes long. Due to editing however, we rarely see close to that length; less than 3 minutes of this one aired for one thing. Based on the televised fight though, Big Nipper got a few shoves in, while Grim Reaper lifted and flipped BN over multiple times. Both of them spent the rest of the battle bumping into each other. Neither of them caused much if any damage, they were both stylish and well controlled, so Grim Reaper's aggression through more attacks swings it for me.

Grim Reaper got more attacks in. The attacks Big Nipper used had no kill pressure, GR just flipped off the pincers. I never saw the pincers actually used for pinching in that battle. BN's weapon was just too slow. Too slow to pinch, too slow to open, to slow to move up and down.

Big Nipper vs Jackson Wallop - what were the bloody house robots doing? As far as I can see they just cheated Big Nipper of the satisfaction of pitting Jackson Wallop by themselves. The whole series would be far better without house robots interfering. Like Battlebots. I would have given the final fight to Big Nipper, but it was a very close thing, I can't say they were robbed when Grim Reaper won.
