It's a brilliant machine in the hands of a good surgeon. Had my RP performed at no charge in the UK back in 2015 thanks to our wonderful NHS by a surgeon and a DaVinci assister, and still here, cancer free and in good health now.

Hopefully a talented surgeon can expand margins where indicated to capture a few millimeters of additional tissue where and when indicated given the location of any known lesions/tumors on the prostate.

My dad had the procedure on dwcember 13.2023 and he was in severe pain and bleeding and got constapated really bad

Everyone always says there's less blood loss and larger incisions but they don't say why the robot allows smaller incisions as opposed to a doctor

Doodelay Explains Because for the “classic’‘ surgery the surgeon needs space and access to perform the surgery, therefore larger incisions and more blood while making room to access the organ. Instead of those large incisions, the robotic assisted surgery allows for small incisions through which the robotic arms (in form of tubular laparoscopic instruments) are inserted. Furthermore the davinci‘s camera system is magnified so the surgeon has a really in-depth view.

it also has lesser chance of nerve damage, causes a much less agressive inflamatory response, even compared to laparoscopic surgery without the robot. A open sugery would at least have to fit a hand on it.

I'll take traditional surgery over robotic. Now your left with multiple scars instead of 1.I had major back surgery and chose traditional. And at the end of this, he sneaks in we go through natura orifices. Well i think we know where this is. So no thank you. I'd rather you not go through there for anything.
