Don’t know if it’s just because he’s great at selecting people or whether it’s to do with how humble and nice he is, but everyone who is featured on this channel seems so laid back and supportive. This feels so good to watch, it reminds me of times when I would play weird stuff with a great friend of mine, it would mostly sound not really beautiful but it was such magical moments of musical experimentation. Everyone should have opportunities like that in their respective art. Just to enjoy making stuff, no matter what it is, how beautiful it is to our standards. I think that playing music with people is one of the most powerful experiences I've had in my life.

This is exactly how buying drums went for me! The first few steps were nice and slow, lots of time passed before I gradually added a second rack tom, a cowbell, a second crash... and then BAM, 10 steps went by all at once and now I have to squeeze through a forest of toms and splashes to get behind the kit.

I've been playing for 5 and I'm trying to use it but since I also play double bass it's somewhat hard to go from back beat to up beat when switching to and fro (which makes it so that I end up not bothering with the "hi-hat foot" at all on most songs because of that)

Back when I was drumming I used to use 13" hihats that I loved. I would never use hihats bigger than 14 ever.

@@Booskop. Thats why one of the first things my teacher said while taking drumming lessons is to get some over-ear headphones. First so it's not too loud indoors and second for playback stuff.

We're a dying breed. I only use 14"s on my x-hat. 13"s have been my main hat since 1996. I never got into the giant cymbals fad. Except the ride though. I have a 22" Paiste Signature Dry Dark Ride, but I actually prefer the sound of the 20"!
