IKR!! We had tha pleasure 🙏🏾 of watching Janet grow early! She did right choosing JimmyJam & Terry 2 produce her and bring out qualities. Although this song was produced by Monte Moir of tha Time, Janet opened up to us a lil with 🎶! This is ALL her as Paula Abdul did help on her first album but Paula b'came a rivalist w/her solo album so Janet wanted prove she already had tha SPICE 😉💯

Janet Jackson actually started out as a young actress. She played "Penny" On "Good Times". Then a few years later she was on "Different Strokes" and played Willis' girlfriend. She was also in a few movies as an adult. One of which was "Poetic Justice". That being said, I think this song, and Rythmn Nation are my two favorite songs from her. 😁

Janet was just inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "Rhythm Nation" was her magnum opus. Anything from that album is a banger. You should do "Nasty", though, if only because Paula Abdul is also in the video. As for 80s babes, you also had Madonna, Whitney, Annie Lennox, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Gloria Estefan, Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Bonnie Tyler, Sade, and, of course, Dolly, just to name a few.

"Rhythm Nation" came out in my senior year and it was what we hoped for in the future: "Like minded individuals bound together by our beliefs, pushing toward a world rid of color lines". She was also the first woman on television with a shape like mine(in the 1980s, it didn't seem like anyone had a rear end).

I don't know. You'd have had to see Janet's figure live. All around the girl was bad! Not just rear. And I don't know where you were in the 80's, but like today, It was nothing to see Sisters all day everyday with big rears.

Janet was my childhood sweetheart!! From her singing arena to playing Charlotte in The Fresh Prince!!. She had so many great hits throughout her career. It's too bad that her performance with Justin Timberlake caused the industry to black ball her music . .. while nothing happened to Timberlake. Such a tragedy for an extremely talented artist!!!!

I remember an ex-gf dragging me along to a Janet Jackson concert in the early 90s... Tbh I didn't want to go because I hadn't got into her music beforehand... I left the concert as a newly appreciative fan because I was quite surprised at the standard of her performance. She's a Jackson through and through for sure... I enjoyed Michael's concert more, of course 😏 Most of Janet's choreography was done by Paula Abdul.

Makes me nostalgic. Lol Paula Abdul was her choreographer for the Control Album videos. And not all of it. She's worked with many different ones. The other choreographer who earned her recognition was Tina Landon. There was a guy name Anthony Thomas they called Bam Bam. Yeah. Janet always switched it up. And it always fit the styling of the Album she worked on. You have to watch her ALRIGHT video. It was a throwback tribute to Cab Callaway and his era.
