Jacob: "You should get your friends. We're very close to the end, Hurley." I enjoyed this episode so much. Ben was fabulous as always. I especially loved him trying to make a citizen's arrest. Watching this episode I couldn't wait to find out what Desmond has planned for our beloved characters. And Jack taking over from Jacob on the island was pretty much a given but it was still nice that he chose to do it. Jacob's speech really got to the point that ultimately the show wasn't called LOST cause they were on an island, it was cause they were all lost in their lives even before they got to the island

Lost is probably the most re-watched show in the history of television. It's easy and pleasant to re-watch - it's layered,, equally plot and character driven, with so many hooks and every season is a different kind! Love all the subtext characters saying in these last episodes. Writers did a great job.

Jacob is right, I think. Their lives were better with the Island. They grew as people, they had amazing friendships, positive changes all around. And the lives they lived before weren't great. Like he said, broken. And the task he chose them for is literally saving the world. Not just from the black smoke leaving the island, but from the light going out, the destruction of the earth.

Waiting a year is a good amount of time to rewatch this show. A second watch will blow your mind, as you will pick things up, that you didn't know was important the first time. It's a great rewatch that I very much suggest...You'll love it...AGAIN! LOL. 🤘🤯😁👍

The candidates were alone, that’s true. Even Jin and Sun married were alone inside their couple. Rose and Bernard were alone too in a certain way. One wanted to fight cancer, the other accepted it. Jacob bringing them on the island reunited them by erasing the desease. Each of the characters have found something or someone on the island for not being alone anymore. They should thank Jacob.

I don't think the "alone" comment necessarily applies to the non-candidates. Rose and Bernard benefited from the island, but most of the other people on the plane were just causalities.

About Mother and the smoke monster: I have always thought the smoke monster existed as a tool for the guardian of the island. When Jacob threw MIB into the light, he merged with the monster, causing it to suddenly have a soul which made it more dangerous and leading to it wanting to leave the island.

Nice man Jacob. Brings sad people to the island for them to die. The purpose is to find a replacement to protect everything. His motive is to stop his brother from killing everyone. His brother wants to kill them because they stop him from leaving the island. Very interesting plot twist. Jack feeling the need for the island, went back and now HAVE TO kill the only guy on the island who wants to leave but can't. Only because his dead friends can not speak up, you know. Because they were killed by Jacob's people.

I love the way everybody 'remembers' by meeting their loves from the other universe, but Ben remembers by having the crap beat out of him. 😂

You guys lamenting the end of Lost, wanted to give a couple of recommendations. 1. Dark - closest thing I’ve seen to the crazy mystery Lost was 2. The Leftovers - imo the spiritual successor to Lost and a primary writer of Lost was the show runner. Probably his best work. Thanks for taking this journey with us. Love that you’re diving into Saul btw.

The show has definitely changed and with more rewatches the later seasons became more important to me. 1 finale (2 episodes) left. And we all know that seaons premiers and finales are the pinnacle of LOST.

I think what's interesting about the theory about the Mother from Across the Sea being a smoke monster is that she would have been both the Guardian and the Monster during that time which would suggest that there needed to be both in some capacity.

An unpopular opinion but this is one of the biggest reason that Jack is my all time favourite TV characters. Sawyer immediately blamed Jack for Juliet's death to the point that he vowed to kill him. However, when Sawyer felt guilt for the deaths of Sun, Jin and Sayid, Jack took the blame off of Sawyer's shoulders and put it on Flocke.

Yes, sooner or later Jacob would have had to choose a successor anyway. His mother got weaker too. But finding a reason why these candidates are ... no, I don't see it that way. To say that the candidates had poor and unhappy lives and let them go through hell on the island? Threadbare. From that point of view, being born into this task as a baby was even better. - One episode (part two) left. I remember: I cried soo much. 😭
