Excellent - worth mentioning that Dual Mass Flywheels can often be replaced with a solid mass single flywheel as a conversion. Not as smooth running but a lot less problematic

Flywheel can be compared to like the rotors of the brake pads …burnt smell is usually the clutch disc being worn out as the culprit of the problem…unless much grooves or roughness of the flywheel surface then it needs replacement or resurfacing…other than that I would diagnose the clutch disc like the brake pads being 95% cause of the clutch symptoms of slippage every time…good blog! 😊

Hi can I just change the flywheel or do I have to change the clutch aswell

Well, in most cases, you'll want to replace the clutch kit as well, as it's probably past its best years.

Iß there a lincage that can or could come loose

No, but if the car has a dual-mass flywheel, the springs inside it may be loose, which generates rattle while idling in neutral.
