@auzieaus9 жыл бұрын
+ProjectLifeCommand i think it means that the 'you' so it's a he, he never meant or he never wanted to hurt nobody. so he doesn't want to hurt anyone at all, not a single soul. well, that is definitely a positive thing. Think before u speak/write, because that is such a rude comment of yours.
@EvansRowan1239 жыл бұрын
Amy Stunning You're kind of ignoring his point, since it's still a double negative with what you wrote. It's obvious what the line means, anyway, and the correct objection to make to what he wrote is: "if you were really educated, you'd know about linguistic descriptivism, and wouldn't insist that a meaning no-one intuitively reads from the sentence is actually the correct meaning. Go back to school"

@jackstrawful Жыл бұрын
Just listening to this album for the first time, due to it catching my eye at #7 on RYM's all-time best electropop albums. Gotta say, Robyn herself was kind of annoying me on other tracks, but the stellar production is keeping me going - this moment in particular was jaw-dropping. Hard to believe this is from 2010; I think it's impact, technique and creativity would stand well above the pack even today. Just looked up the producer, Klas Ahlund, and what do you know, he also worked on my personal favorite dance-pop album of the decade, Ellie Goulding's Delirium, which I think is insanely underrated - though that's more to do with Goulding herself than the production, which admittedly doesn't often rise above serviceable. Notable that Ahlund wasn't lead producer, unlike this project, on which he seems to have been responsible for just about everything, from all instrumentation, to the music and lyrics to mixing.

@siqck10 ай бұрын
They are genuinely not deep. The idea of breaking up with your partner because you "found somebody new" and then the best shit you can come up with is "It's not your fault, I am still your friend, and I just met somebody new" is true asshole behavior, especially so if you don't plan on explaining in detail, yet telling them "The only way your heart will mend is when you learn to love again" is genuinely deranged. Try to imagine you find out your partner is leaving you because they've been cheating and then they say that shit.

I believe she is conveying the emotions of the situation, both negative and positive, through the expression of her dancing; sort of an interpretive dance type thing. The song and dance moves are at times conveying compassion and regret over the situation while at the same time expressing the joy she feels in meeting this new love. That's my take on it; it is both a joyful and sad song and video.

So much energy and talent all at once, yet she was getting no airplay on the corporate mainstream. I was lucky and happened to hear her on Seattle's dance radio station which is run by amateurs. Just kids, really, but they knew greatness when they heard it and put her on heavy rotation. Robyn even visited them when she was on her first US tour since the numbers showed that, as tiny as they were, they were introducing more people to her music than any other station. I remember she actually sounded kind of surprised that they liked her so much. I'm so glad people are rediscovering her now. Late or not, she deserves the recognition.

Robyn Rocked The Shit Out Of That Dance! Original! ❤❤
@mddubeau4 жыл бұрын
This is the greatest of all time. Here’s the thing, I read this differently, like she’s not making it 100% clear that she’s the new girl or the old one. She’s TELLING HIM WHAT TO SAY, but it could go either way. There’s a lot of pain either way. That Robyn shimmy, with her arms up in the air... how the hell? I try to dance to this but I wreck my living room... WORTH IT

Rest of pop music: "We need to make a music video. We're going to need a couple of sets, a few dancers for the big number, plenty of costumes...Do we know any movie stars willing to do it for free? Is a tiger or an elephant cheaper to rent? etc,? Robyn: "Can I just hit this blunt and dance my ass off in a warehouse?"

MrRoKenshin Doubt it. I don't believe Robyn has to rely on a substance that weak-minded idiots depend upon in order to be creative or entertaining. She's better than some dumbfuck burnout waste of life.
@lillianhazen59549 жыл бұрын
LordofApache Yo, don't say that shit. I'm not weak-minded, I'm actually an incredibly smart person who happens to have an autoimmune disorder that causes me to live my life in horrible pain every second of the day, except when I'm smoking my medicine. I'm one of the strongest people I know because of what I go through. I'm not a burnout waste of life. Don't judge a huge percent of the global population and believe them to be wastes of life. It's ignorant and sad and those sorts of views don't get you very far in life. Think before you speak.

in case anyone is interested, the type of dance she does is called Ecstatic Dancing - it's where you let the beat consume you and you go into trance-like state where you connect and let the music move you, it's my favorite style of dancing - you just let your body do whatever your body feels without worry of judgement, whether it's by yourself in a dark room or out around folks at a festival or such, it's an extremely freeing and liberating way to dance and feel ❤️ definitely worth a try if you haven't yet (sometimes you may have already done this type of dancing without even realizing it - it's a very ancient form of dance that is already ingrained within us that rhythm can bring out and we just feel pure bliss), it may seem super strange at first, but if you close your eyes and really let yourself go and just focus and sway with the beats and put your all out into it, you can feel that trance like state with just music, no drugs, etc. just pure euphoria. and once youve felt that feeling, it's very easy to bring that feeling back whenever you need it to ground yourself when life gets too chaotic - it's a great therapeutic method as well due to that 🎶 hope y'all are staying safe and healthy during these crazy times ❤️

This isn't what everyone does at home in the kitchen, etc.? I'm confident that I've literally performed all of these various dance moves. Maybe that's why I love her and her music so much. :)

Why does this not have at least 500 million views? People rave about it but the visual is a big part of the song.

Because the momentum of the song was taken by a cover. Lennon and Maisie, they were two girls who made a cover mixed with the ultra popular cup song at the time. 2 of Robyn’s songs had that fate, at least she’s getting royalties from it all. But, the originals should be celebrated instead of overlooked by ignorant people thinking the covers are the originals.

One of my favorite music videos. I try as best I can to recreate it in the car when it comes on shuffle. Traffic lights get to be pretty awkward, but worth it.

I love how even after years of knowing this song it's still a fresh take on cheating and how the persona never really meant to hurt the girl the second person is leaving. She even tells him to tell the girl that it isn't her fault, that she shouldn't start thinking about what's wrong, and that's beautiful. The persona is in love with the second person and that's it, there is no hate involved in it. She knows its wrong but she's gonna go ahead, but with peace. Also if she improvised that entire dance, then wow. That's amazing. I love her somehow retro-modern fashion going with her dance moves.

Robyn is very rare and very special , she is is completely original and incredibly talented, i don't think the mainstream realise what Robyn is and why she is so specail, we live in an age of populism and 'instant' 'talent' shows not real world talent unfortunately
