I have seen Robyn live as well as many mainstream pop acts but by far this girl right here gave me the best show I could ask for. I have spent $700 a ticket to see Britney Spears, and though I don't regret it, Robyns $40 ticket gave me an experience of a lifetime filled with emotion and intellect and intimacy. I remember seeing the music video for this song on MTV when it first came out. I didn't know Robyn. I pegged it as an older video from another time (like the 90s) because of the look of it. Am I glad I didn't just ignore it. Then Call Your Girlfriend came out. I had that one on repeat a LOT. I still get flashbacks to senior year, computer science class, Call Your Girlfriend over and over and over. Then I saw her live for the first time last year. I was nervous about the show because the weather was terrible (my seat was outside) but they moved everybody under the pavilion (open seats shouldn't have been a thing). I had a blast. It felt amazing to be in that crowd. Robyn attracts a great crowd and she puts everything out there for you. I cannot wait to see her again some day. This performance had me borderline dancing while laying in my bed! It is better than the recording! The sound of the drum beating leading into her starting to sing, how could you sit still?

Nothing like bands or individuals who sing in English but it is not there mother tongue Abba, Golden Earring, Aha, Ace Of Base and Robyn to name a few. The effort to sing in another language creates a very unique sound which leaves listeners wanting more. I was born in England and remember Eurovision as well as top of the pops but Canada is home now so I can appreciate cool music. Show me love and dancing on my own have a good beat and rhythm.
