The unfortunate reality is that the writers probably have a similar mindset you see when it comes to your average looters: just take from whoever has more than themselves, regardless if it was earned legitimately through hard work or not. Because unlike the supposed motivations of Robin Hood, portrayals like this show are about personal greed and envy, not trying to correct wrongdoings; granted it's all perspective at some point, but motivations are what contextualize/legitimize actions that could be considered right or wrong.

It's not even that creative. I believe that OCP was actively screwing the place over SO they could take it over and replace it with something they controlled more and were actively encouraging the crime issue to push for their own methods of solving it. Hell, Murphy was made a VICTIM of such things so the Robocop division would have their product. I haven't even gotten that far into the video and I can guess that the crime issue is so bad in this because of the people's own choices, not because corrupt corporations are encouraging and enabling crime in order to further their own business plans and establish a further monopoly of control and 'security'. There is so much wrong with this that it won't last a single season. They will can it before the first one is even finished airing. Police will NOT shoot unarmed protestors, they will do what they're trained to do, de-escalate the situation and if that doesn't work they will use non-lethal force, pepper spray, water cannons, bean bag guns, NEVER live ammo. From here, we see Robin Hood did not steal indiscriminately from the rich but only from certain corrupt types. The excerpt here is Robin counting the goods of a corrupt bishop he captured. But he wasn't a religion hater either. Immediately after, he finds and leaves expensive candles alone since it's the kind used for holy services instead of being part of the bishop's luxuries.

Exactly It was the crown and the tax collectors he went after. Any rich person or business owner (for modern day term) was left alone as they were being taxed just as hard. He didn't help them as much as they were able to weather the storm as it was while the homeless, elderly and families couldn't. Anyone who earned their money fairly was left alone. He was basically someone who resorted to being a criminal due to his heart of gold. If a rich person had their house or a merchant cart raided by the Sheriff or the crown. Robin would stand up for them and help them regain what was stolen or taken.

I just did a bit of calculation and found out each cop has to be making maximum 833.33 per month, without any sort of other benefits and bonuses, to be able to stay under 20grand, which is the most expensive drones you mentioned. I was unemployed for a years during the pandemic, I re-trained, re-skilled and got a job in traffic control. The problem is that they hire way too many people and so many of us barely have enough shifts to get by. Last week I literally had NO WORK AT ALL. Unlike the jobless losers in this show, I am used to WORKING HARD, I'm not sure which job I can get into now though. I guess I'll have to retrain again. If people want 'modern entertainment' to change, all they have to do is ignore it long enough for it to collapse. KZbin channels with the biggest audiences only need to focus on GOOD ENTERTAINMENT i.e. shows that are pre-woke and aren't total garbage. It's sad that race-swapped garbage is the norm now. Western entertainment is dead to me.

This show could have kept the basic premise (racially charged nonsense) and still be actually competently done. Let me show you how: Instead of a music video, the crew could have busted into the construction office to reveal that the company building it is cutting corners and avoiding environmental and health guidelines to save cost. For example. That would still make them criminals technically, but with a cause. Police could respond to the illegal activity and chase them away, one police officer (let us say they are black, just for the sake of it) sees the evidence before it is collected and it sets him on a "redemption arc". They chase them to the "hood", can't enter due to an overwhelming hostile presence (pelting with eggs etc.). They deploy the drone and the "smart one" actually takes it over by hacking into it (not that hard on commercial drones actually) before the police gets their evidence. Which is how police lose their drone. Cops go away because they get another call of some more serious crime going on that is more important than chasing some kids. Sheriff chews them up for that, not because they lost the drone, but because she is corrupt and paid off by the Prince who is building those new buildings. His shady construction practices are now going to be uncovered. She send them back to arrest our "protagonists", to finish the job that they started. We spend the next few minutes seeing our Robyn making the runs, montage of her delivering packages, dealing with people, angry dogs... you know, regular day of a hard working delivery person. She then gets to deliver the shoes to the rich kid, and due to exhaustion pics out the wrong package. Makes a bad delivery, but can't return the package because maybe we saw earlier her boss saying "One more mistake, and you are out!". Which is why she later decides to try and "fix" the shoes, or actually breaks into the shop and try to switch the packages without anyone knowing. Still the criminal, but at least give her a reason to be one. In front of the Prince's building, protestors come, standing opposite of the building, shouting. Prince calls the crooked sheriff to chase them away. Police comes, but can't really do anything legally, so the crooked sheriff shouts that she sees a gun and takes out her own. Either she shoots towards the suspected gun-wielder or just takes out a gun and Robyn jumps her from behind causing her to fire... all in all, Robyn's mother gets shot and arrested for inciting violence. She could actually have a scene where she actively calls for the breach of law (protestors, no matter what they are protesting, usually are - law always protects status quo). OR you could have Robyn taking out a shoe to throw at the Sheriff, she shouts "GUN!" before even seeing the shoe, takes out her gun, Robyn's mom jumping in to protect her daughter and accidentally gets shot. She gets then arrested for "assaulting an officer". I like the last option the most because it is realistic - in a charged situation like that, it is a somewhat realistic scenario, and you can have Robyn eating herself out because she then sees herself as a reason her mother got shot and arrested. Crew find out about the coins from Robyn earlier, decide to grab them - but they can't really sell them. No fence will buy it, and just melting the cold is not going to give nearly enough value. Why do they need the money? Not to bail out Robyn's mom, but to prepare a legal battle against the Prince's construction business with the evidence they have. That is where the Tuck comes in - he is a dark web guy, dealing in shady business, collectors, knows his way around cryptocurrencies etc. He can fence those coins for what they are worth and transfer the money through crypto. And they make a point that is not really stealing, because those coins should be in a museum and Prince himself got his hands on them illegally. Maybe he is even collector himself, or has connections to museums across the continent who want to get their hands on the pieces (through some shady means) from the illegal private collection that Prince accumulated over the years. That way you have a target for the crew's crimes in the future, stealing the stolen artifacts and returning them to the public, for profit to fund their legal battle against Prince. They move in, try to get the coins but fail, they get the car instead. They can't really sell it, so they take it to a chop-shop where they make their music video while they are cannibalizing Prince's car. That money is then used to bail out Robyn's mom. Episode 1 ends with the crew set on a life of semi-crime that are being done to fund their legal battle against the Prince (saints by day, outlaws at night), Prince and Sheriff are in cahoots but the rest of the police and just honest hard working men (with one of them actually on the turn since he saw the evidence and will be the mole for the crew later in the season). There, fixed with minimal changes. It still has that stupid race element, it has all of its scenes in there just written a bit differently. It does not make it a good show. But at least it is not so stupid. At least not imho.
