Didn't get to go see Robyn Crawford give an interview about her deep friendship with Whitney Houston, live from the Woodland in New Jersey? That's ok, you can be our plus 1! Come along and find out how they met, what kept them friends for so long, and what uncomfortable questions Robyn preferred not to answer... She was a doll and the night was a WONDER!!!

Robyn has never changed. From day one, she is a woman of her word. Because of Robyn I met Whitney @ age 15. I’m 45 now. My mom surprised me for my birthday and took me to Whitney’s I’m Your Baby Tonight tour. Robyn is a sweet, kind and funny. How Whitney and Robyn interacted with one another was seeing a real friendship with unconditional love that was on a whole other level. I am so happy that Robyn finally spoke and wrote a wonderful, respectful book. She has given real Whitney fans complete closure to one who gave us The Greatest Love of All! Whitney Houston the Voice!!! Thank you for sharing.

When she said Robyn's voice was the one authentic voice we hadn't heard from... that said it all. I didn't bother reading Cissy or Bobby's books because I knew they wouldn't be truthful. I'm so glad Robyn finally decided to tell her story. After reading the book, I hope Silvia Vejar will eventually write a book as well. Robyn humanized Whitney. As a day one fan I appreciate her loving and caring for Whitney over the years.

Robyn Crawford is a class acts. Robyn bring Whitney Houston name and Legacy justice. I love Robyn for that. Robyn make Whitney Houston human and relatable in the books. Whitney reminds me of these fun loving auntie who look out for people in needs. That’s Whitney Houston. It’s suck that people don’t look after Whitney when she need them. It’s heartbreaking. Whitney Houston want love and acceptance because she believe that everyone need love in their life. She was raise spirituality in gods. God love everyone but we don’t love each other. It’s sad truth.

I ordered my book and just finished it! I was very mixed about this whole thing. You know, lotsa old timers feel it's just not right to speak about someone once they have passed away and I believe that as well. But. I'm gonna share my opinion and you can agree with it or not. I was pleasantly surprised about the soft spoken nature that Robyn had. If you listened or remember hearing from Whitney's brother Gary, he describes Robyn as a loud bully, but you never hear Michael say anything like that about Robyn. Cissy has mentioned her feelings about Robyn and she always described Robyn as disrespectful and mouthy. I was that way in my teens and maybe that's what Mrs. Houston was referring to. It amazes me that members of the Houston family could dog Robyn out the way they have, and Robyn is able to keep a kind and civil tongue in her head is beyond me. For that to have happened to Robyn, and for those of you who watched this all the way through, you heard Robyn say she loved Cissy and she cared about her (with tears in her eyes). Sorry folks...you can't be all that bad of a person to feel love for someone who has probably treated you wrong and said terrible things about you. Robyn is better than me. I would've been like...Kiss My Ass! And I wouldn't have lost a minutes sleep over saying that either! Anyway, let's go back to when Whitney was making it Big!!! Rumors everywhere about the two of them...Robyn never said a word...when Whitney and Bobby got married...did Robyn do interviews telling the juicy details? NO...When Whitney and Bobby were having all of these troubles and Robyn was still in Whitney's employ, did she come out doing interviews and telling any and everyone to make a buck? Nope! So from let's say 1992 when Whitney and Bobby were married until 2019, Robyn has never opened her mouth. But plenty of things have been said about her, mostly false and she has remained silent...27 years of being quiet when you have people trashing you...I can't be quiet 27 seconds when somebody is trashing me! I feel Robyn has every right to tell "her" story....for it is "HER" story. Everyone else is telling "their" story about Whitney. Bebe Winans wrote a book which I have and thoroughly enjoyed, he made money off of it and no-one to my knowledge, gave him hard time about it, and he did in fact tell some no so flattering things about Whitney...it was his experience with her! His Story. Pat Houston is always doing something making money in Whitney's name. I'm sorry I don't like that woman! The making money part after someone has passed bugs me. I can't say that it doesn't. But Robyn has been misrepresented for almost 40 years and she has never defended herself until now. I understand that some people are getting their feathers ruffled because Robyn is speaking about their physical relationship. I'm gay and I believe you should keep those things private. But when you read this book, the physical part of their story is only about 4 pages. Really 4 pages! Robyn is not getting down and dirty like describing what you would see if you were watching porn and if you have seen any interviews including this one, it isn't vulgar. Robyn's goal, I believe, was to lift Whitney's legacy up. I just heard stories about Whitney that I hadn't heard before...funny, happy stories! I don't believe for one minute that Robyn in anyway was trying to harm Whitney's reputation! I did in the beginning, but not now. Listen to all the laughter in this room about all of the funny things Whitney did, how kind she was, and on and on! Isn't the way we would hope our true friends would remember us? Maybe it's just me, but I can feel that this has lifted a weight off of Robyn's shoulders. She lost a true friend, one that for a time she was estranged from. Can you imagine some of the guilt Robyn may be feeling or dealing with? Once again, this is my opinion...I believe if Robyn had been in charge of making any kind of documentary about Whitney's life it would've been more uplifting and would've been praise for all that Whitney accomplished. The CD changer in my Jeep has 6 CD's...all of them Whitney CD's...at some point while I'm driving, I'm listening to her! I don't love Whitney Houston for the scandals and misfortunes she had in life. I love her for what she gave me. The music....music that I listened to when I was in a depression that I thought I wouldn't be able to pull myself out of...music of some of the happiest times of my life...if you're a Whitney fan you know the feeling I'm talking about, the feeling you get when her whistle register peaks on a note and the hair on the back of your neck stands up! Y'all know what I'm talking about! That's MY memory of Whitney Houston. I was fortunate enough to see her LIVE in concert 6 times and met her at a meet and greet at the Summit in Houston in 1987 and once briefly in 2010 in Atlanta. She was a very sweet lady with a smile that was 2 feet wide! I hope everyone can look past "Robyn stabbed Whitney in the back and she's making money off a dead person" mentality! I thought it too, but I think Robyn was honoring her friend in this writing! Robyn to me is a classy lady!

@@Black_American_Native One thing Robyn says repeatedly is Whitney too comfort in knowing Robyn would keep the sex relationship she had as a teenager a secret! Robyn also said Whitney got upset when she didn't denie that part of their relationship strong enough. Robyn is no friend of Whitney! When your friend ask you to keep a secret, you take it to your grave. Robyn waited to after Whitney died to write this book for money! She knows Whitney would be hurt and stop her if she were alive. Robyn should be ashamed of herself! I would not want a phony, greedy friendemey like her in my life. She's talkin all soft spoken noe to fool fans into buying that trash book of hers to pad her pockets. Whitney is not here to tell her side of the story, how convenient for Robyn. She wanted to be the man in Whitney's life, but Whitney didn't want that. Whitney wanted a man and did not want to live as a gay women. She gave Robyn that bible and told her the sex had yo stop! Whitney knew what the bible says about gay stuff and did not want to loose her religion. Rest in peace Whitney, God knew your heart and the devil is a Liar! The love of money is the root of all evil! Robyn truly loved her. And I believe Whitney loved Robyn just as deeply as Robyn loved her. Whitney had to keep up appearances and her image. I can feel the love that Robyn still has for the Whitney that she knew. Not Whitney the performer. It must have been really emotionally hard for her to see Whitney date all those men and have to hide her own love for Whitney and pretend that they were just friends. That's unconditional love. Robyn truly is a class act.

In your dream and hers too. Whitney wasn't gay she was just experiencing things like a lot of young girls. When she was 15 just was experimenting with sex. When she we got older she realized that was wrong. It has nothing to do with appearance. It has to do with her knowing God word. She was in love with Bobby even though they wouldn't be good for each other.

Robyn said in her book that her father said “Whitney’s broke so it’s time to hit the road” after all those tours and making millions she was broke. Whitney found out that even Bobby Brown’s mother was submitting bills to her company to pay for her housing expenses & she flipped out about it. Whitney was upset that she was paying her mom’s living expenses too while she was making a lot of money singing herself. Whitney’s family sucks & are pure evil. No wonder that poor girl was trying to numb her pain by doing drugs & boozing.

Robyn Crawford introduced me to Whitney Houston at the Reach Out and Touch HIV/AIDS vigil here in London. I was the organiser and the national event was privately funded by George Michael, who was still in the closet at the time. It was just in advance of superstar Whitney's ground-breaking Bodyguard film debut, and the two women had been together for about 10 years by that time. It was immediately clear to me then that they were as closely bonded as Siamese twins. Robyn did not hide her sexuality and presented herself shoulder-to-shoulder with Whitney; as her partner and not as an employee or assistant. In an earlier meeting she proudly told me, "I've been walking with Whitney a long time". She also told me not to be fooled by the media or music video images of Whitney, and insisted, "That's not who she is! She's just like you and me." Reading her fascinating book, A Song For You, completes the circle for me, but a more fitting title, perhaps, might have been, 'The Love That Dare Not Sing Its Name'. The two women were driven apart by religious-based homophobia in the Black church and Whitney's family. Her decision to deny her natural sexuality out of fear of hell fire and internalized shame ultimately led to her addictions and early demise. Even after her death her mother Cissy went on TV and said she would never have accepted her daughter's gayness. She had nothing nice to say about Robyn, either. Too pathetically sad, and evidence if we needed more of it as to why Whitney felt it necessary to shun her inner truth. Let me say here what Cissy Houston should have said back then: Other than her multi award-winning voice, Robyn Crawford was undoubtedly Whitney's most precious gift. There, let that song be sung! My own book, God's Other Children: A London Memoir, includes pictures of my meeting Whitney and Robyn and is available at Gay's The Word bookstore and Amazon. I truly love these two women so very much and Robyn has my total respect. It is heart warming to be in touch with her again, thanks to Facebook. Love is a song by Whitney. @@simonwebster368 ..Word for word you expressed my thoughts exactly. Robin needs a no time limited platform where she can speak in her own unique way as only she can do. I truly understand why she wrote the book because we see most outlets today sadly will not let you control you own narrative.

I like how Robyn thinks before she speaks, she may be a little long winded but I appreciate that in her. I read the book and she really is STILL trying to protect Whitney’s image and legacy. She deserves to be heard, everyone has had their stories and opinions on Robyn Crawford but only she can tell the story. Her story. Thank you Robyn

Whitney had to keep working to support herself and her family. It is really sad to read how so many of them used her as their personal ATM. Her family, especially her brothers should have taken better care of her.

it almost made me cry when she started saying that she loves Whitney Houston's mother but she didn't like some things about her I honestly respect her I mean saying how truly felt you can tell she really was genuine.... how she didn't send the letters to Whitney was kind of sad but you know pride and everything get in the away I truly understand that....I goin through something simular

I'm seeing & feeling "True Love" here. Such a pity the music industry didn't let Whitney and Robyn be who they really were, being able to express the Love they felt towards each other, in front of the world. I don't believe Whitney would've continued taking drugs had she stayed with Robyn, without Bobby Brown in the picture. May you Rest in Peace ☮ Miss Whitney Houston 🙏.

I love WEH even more now that I know she loved Al Jarreau. I love him. With her mother's unconditional love and open door policy to come talk truthfully, Robin, thank God was able to save herself. 💜💜 it's nothing like seeing what could possibly be you, in someone else whom you completely find utterly disgusting in terms of behavior induced by a substance

Folks, I read both of Robyn's book and Bobby's. And I noticed an interesting inconsistency! On the night of Whitney and Bobby's first dating, Whitney asked Robyn and Silvia for buying condoms. Next day, Whitney said she didn't use the condoms and Silvia & Robyn said she is nut. Whitney hinted here she did with Bobby already...... BUT! In the book of Bobby, he said he didn't sleep with her that night. Weird...

I enjoyed your commentary and it's often the way that when you do a kind act as with your ticket gift the kindness is returned. Personally I think the interviewer talked a bit too much, but I find Robyn' way of responding in interviews is thoughtful, measured and full of wisdom...I'm on my second reading of the book...on what real love and friendship is about... thank you.
