The problem I have on Aberdeen is that I keep finding 6 or 9 node hadanite but they spawn inside a large stone or a tree or something. Its always a good idea to get as close as you can and make sure the gems are accessible before going through the trouble to land and unload the ROC. Might have to try Daymar.

Good advice. Have been spending a lot of time gem mining with my CB and Roc. The biggest flaw I am finding is I discover good Hadanite rock groups but more often than not they have spawned inside surface rocks and cant be mined. This is so broken!! I also have al kinds of issues with extraction not working properly unless I select it then exit mining mode and then re entering it. Also sometimes the power metering wont appear and I am getting pretty good at breaking rock but feel and judgment. That is pretty satisfying.
@bronney3 жыл бұрын
same here but I found a workaround. When your extraction and or charging stop working, spam M. The modes are tripped and thought your M is retracted when it's deployed. It's a very common bug if you program voiceattack without variable checks. Spam M and right click, because sometimes the arm thinks it's in extract mode when it's in fracture mode. Very messy this.
@LoudGuns3 жыл бұрын
Another thing I found is to switch the laser back to fracturing mode from extraction after you’re finished, before you switch off mining mode. It seems to reduce the amount of times it bugs.

I think I commented about this on a previous video of yours. Finding them has never been an issue for me. Fly low, and fly slow. My problem is that I get about 2-3 good groups mined before they desync. You can see them, scan them, but your mining laser doesn't have any affect. I have tried just about every solution in the book, and the only thing that fixes it is a relaunch of the game, which wastes a lot of time. I hope that gets fixed.
@LoudGuns3 жыл бұрын
Ah sorry if I missed that - I think there’s an issue where the laser bugs and switches. Rather than logging out one definite way to fix it is to go back to the mining outpost and put the ROC away, then take it back over - it’ll work. I also found you can reduce the frequency it happens by switching your laser back to mining mode from extract before you exit mining mode.

The worst thing about this game is the Developers are to into making money with adding new ships to try to lure people into the game, and the sad part is the game has loads of bugs and crashes and server disconnection errors. and they seem to not have them on their top priority list. So when you buy the game come's a big disappointment, your buying game pieces and no game to play them on. They really need to get their heads out of their asses and start fixing the game. @LoudGuns3 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe the scanner size makes a difference in terms of the range you detect gems. Bigger scanners can generally detect mineables in a larger radius (so you’ll see the surface rocks pop up at further away) but it’s the signature that factors in on the gems so they only show at about 1.2km - I tested with a nomad and cutty and there was no difference (assume the same for the larger ships but I could be wrong).

Hmmm hadn’t noticed until you said but it must be this Best in Show skin?

My problem is that what I mine tends to disappear in the map and I can't collect what I've mined.

Yeah unfortunately gems have been glitching into the planets a bit more recently which does suck, haven’t found a good way around that just yet.

Hey LoudGuns, do you know what to do if the gem nodes are *inside* a rock formation, and therefore completely unreachable it seems? I've tried blasting the rocks with weapons, and nothing happens. The icons are there, but they're just.. inside a rock somehow. Like it's a bad spawn of nodes. So weird.

Yeah unfortunately it’s a just move on moment! Sometimes I think it’s actually picking up spawns in the caves, but sometimes it’s terrain (this has kinda ruined Ariel for me which used to be my favourite place).

@@LoudGuns Yeah this was on Ariel. Thanks for the quick reply :-) I might join you guys on the disc. I've got my orange uniform and a mole, and been getting time on the tools over the last few days. Just by myself, but I like the setting up of the mole. Like a game of billiards with position, and lining up for the shot. Ahhh I remembered another question I wanted to ask. I hope you see this. Do you know if FLTR-XLs stack? Like.. if you put 3 on a mining laser, will it be -90% extraction rate, but -60% collection of inert materials? It sort of feels like it doesn't work because -90% rate should make any collection take a very long time. I've done this on one of my Mole's mining turrets, while the other 2 are for cracking.

@@Scrobes If you are using a MOLE, the FLTR modules are pretty redundant; you have more space available than a single rock (with Quantanium) can consume, even if it had some insanely high percentage; it would take about 3 rocks with about 30% Quantanium each; afaik the filter modules will not stack. I just use the single mining laser to crack and collect, using two surge and a stampede for consumables. All the time spent faffing about changing seats and trying to optimise is really just stealing time from when you could have been back at the refinery, offloaded, and heading back out again. Turn and burn. A bit like the ROC mining approach.

@@kofeyh Great response, and I agree. When you're up against the clock with extracting quant, even if you found 2 rocks together and broke them all, you'll never completely fill the Mole and would never have time to go find a 3rd to crack. I realise this. I suppose my response is: sometimes I don't just want to be maximum efficiency with regards to time. I'm happy to hunt for rocks, and make case by case decisions on whether to crack one for something that *isn't* quant, while always stopping and cracking one that does have quant, knowing I will have to head back to the refinery straight after. I respect everyone's desire to play this differently, and sometimes I want to be super efficient, and sometimes I'm happy to take my time. When I take my time, I might use Mole arm #3 and shift seats a bit. It's not a big deal to me as I'm solo. :-)

Last try i did i found 2 sites with ROC minables inside a large rock, yeah that helps lol. Ohh and i hope we get a paint for the mole, can't stand the orange see me and shoot me color :)
@LoudGuns3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that seems way to common on Ariel for me to keep recommending it. Personally I will paint my mole an even brighter orange….and hire security.

How do you suck the gems up without them flying all over the place?
@LoudGuns3 жыл бұрын
Hi Monkeyy, it’s a bit buggy in 3.15 but I generally find the best way is to be patient - set the extract going but then leave your laser pointed in one spot on the ground (don’t move it even when it starts picking gems up). It’ll pick them up from a patch even from one spot so once they’re done move it and do another patch etc. Moving the laser around like a paintbrush can lead to them going everywhere.
