This song provided a lot of comfort for me when I was little. I went through lots of night terrors, nightmares at age 3/4. My parents put a radio in my room to play at night and this song was quite popular on the station I listened to at the time. I’m disappointed he doesn’t get the airplay anymore even here in Canada. I like a lot of his other music from the ‘90s.

I never understood the immense intensity and sheer depth of Roch Voisine’s lyrics to this song during my Ministry & Nine Inch Nails-phase 90’s. But NOW, as an adult, who’s pushing 40, and has lived a fair bit of life and has experienced the complexities about the in’s and out’s of human relationships, I must say that this is probably one of THE MOST IMPORTANT SONGS to branch out of the 90’s. This song is way too underrated. Those lyrics...geez. Intense! TRUTH!!! And to have, or to even find, a connection like that with a lover or a partner is pretty much one in a million. I’m lucky enough to have one. But we’re just lovers. We’ve known each other close to more than half our lives. She has her husband and her kids in the suburbs, and I have my life in the city... But every couple of years when we get together; to comfort each other, for passion, or sometimes to talk, or to listen when and if we feel that we just simply need to be heard, it’s beautiful. No one told any of us, back then in the 80’s and 90’s, that there are/were various types of relationships in the world which two people can have. I feel blessed to have her as my friend, and as my lover. And I feel doubly blessed to have this tune as mine and her song. ❤️🌪🔥🌊✨

Roch Voisine is an enchanting artist. He’s very humble despite his great good looks and beautiful talent. I think he has the career that he wanted. Perhaps the glitz and nasty undercurrents of creatives in music turned him off. I set him up with a talent agent in Los Angeles for TV and film but I don’t think he reflecting wanted to live in LA. He would have had to relocate at that time. He is a great example of Québécois genius; a warm and keen intelligence bound by a sturdy and logical mind and body . These are characteristics of the Québécois. A beautiful soul. Easy to see.

You and I Have written the book, line by line. The few things it took, to survive, was your loving heart, and mine. Should you go, Remember these words, as they show, Just how much I care... Don't you know... I'll always be there. There when the world and its promise is failing. There when the frost of it's winter is cursing. There when the tears in your eyes keep on asking... I'll always be there. So Beautiful!
