Pete was great for Def Leppard, but he should have put the bottle down. Also Phil is a great showman on his live shows... He litterally handed me a steel pick over the barrier because I was rocking out to every song during their concert @ the Camden waterfront back in '96 during their shitty X album... That night they played EVERYTHING from High & Dry and I LOST IT... EVEN SWITCH 625... Phil & Vivian did Steve & Pete justice that night... 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

Still remember listening to this record for the first time in 1980. Law of primacy. This is such a standout song. Rick Allen’s long, winding drum fills, catchy chorus, growling rhythm guitars, background vocal assault. Can’t ask for anything better. They really had their own sound and style relative to their 2nd British Invasion counterparts. Younger, brighter, not as heavy as Judas Priest or Maiden. Sounds as fresh today as it did back then.

Thanks so much for posting this and what a great document of a brilliant and important NWOBHM band. Saw them live supporting AC/DC at Hammersmith in 1979 and just couldn't believe how young they were - but they absolutely rocked the place and got a brilliant reception. Although I like a lot of their later 'US-rock sound' material I still hanker back to the raw sound of teenage Leppard. Thanks again!

Saw them on 9/11/81 in sunrise fl opening 4 Ozzy on the blizzard tour. Leppard just released High & Dry Album and I vaguely remember hearing rock brigade on K102 but didn't know who they were. They slayed that night as we sat or stood in row 2. During intermission I bought a High & Dry baseballl style t shirt and told my buddy Ozzy was in trouble tonight with this band opening like that. 1 hour later Randy Rhodes played a 20 min solo and put that theory to bed. To this day it's the best concert I ever saw live. That was a good 9/11 memory 20 years later not so much. To the early posts about this not being hard rock .. Dude this is awesome hard rock and they did sell out and went poppy in my opinion right after this album. Third Album was good but Night and HDry r far more ballzy. Lady Strange and the 1st album still my fav. After pyromania I moved on. Mutt Lange kills another 1

High & Dry is my favourite Def Leppard album and yes, they changed their sound after that but you can't deny the quality of Pyromania and Hysteria.
