Hi guys! question for you. Roughly how many attempts before you move on from a tough problem?
@bannanaqwe

No hard number. I'll keep trying it if I feel like I'm capable of doing it. :)

For me, it depends on whether or not I have the physical capability to do the crux.

nick holt I feel the same way. If it’s something that I feel I have the strength or the right move and just have to pull it off then I keep at it.

I lack focus and have a short attention span. I go about 4-5 tries then move on.

gold. the question marks made me lol, ive totally been there... awesome breakdown, super helpful and a great watch. i honestly give a problem about 5 or 6 tries before moving over to something i know i can send, then head back over for a few more attempts. as long as im making progress, ill continue working on it.

Thanks for all these videos! The thing I appreciate is being able to see the progression from the start to the end of a project, and the failed and successful attempts that go with it. You can learn so much just by watching. Thanks again!

Thanks for another highly useful video! Love the way you show all those precious wrong steps -> help me a lot to understand “why the effective steps are effective”. The green arrows added on the screen are very helpful too! I’m very very new to bouldering. The start (around 1:04-1:12 in the video) is already a mission impossible for me. Any beginner feels the same? If there were a few verbal descriptions on your thinking process for those movements, it would be great! Finally, thanks again for sharing with us! Your videos are so high quality!

I love your videos, they're so helpful because I'm a new climber (only climbing 5.11 a) and I'm the type of guy who has absolutely no technique and I'm only counting on my strengh so your videos are really interesting to undertsand how to climb ! Maybe you have some recommandations , like climbing technique exercices to improve my level ? Keep the good work and thanks for your videos!
@rockentry
@rockentry 6 жыл бұрын
You're new to the sport and climbing 5.11? Thats actually good. But, as you mentioned without technique you will plateau fast! So it's good that you are aware of that and want to improve. My recommendation would be to keep watching videos like these and also see how other climbers at your gym climb certain problems and what beta they use, you will be surprise how much you can learn from just watching other climbers. It will make you a better climber! Good luck my friend and thanks for watching.

@@SuperSaiyanPhysique i'm the same way, especially the boulders (in a gym) where you go up and over. Basically i'm just doing the super easy ones over and over and over to get the feel for being up high at what is for me, a scary height.

Hey, I've been projecting that problem! Really enjoyed the video. I've been trying to do a outward iron-cross and then rotate back inwards. That's clearly not working haha. I'll give this beta a try!

V7? In our gym this would be a V4. I guess there isn't a set standard across them all but it looks like rankings are +2 or -2 more or less across different gyms.
