Jared, Im 44. I drive across the country movimg heavy equipment. My cousin played in a band and tried for years to teach me the guitar. Never could pick it up. One day it hit me. When im listining to a song im drumming. Im not interested in the guitar. He died 2 years ago,my daughter finished college ,got married,and ive just driven mile after mile. Bored out of my scull. I found Metall,Hanna,and when i saw Sina i finally said ,"Hey if she can i can." So i payed for my first lesson yesterday. Last night i found your site. Their are alot of how too's on youtube but the quality of your video,the way you break every thing down,and play both speeds really sets you apart. I subscribed instantly. Their are so many garbage responces to videos around youtube today,i just wanted to tell you,"Your work has actually reached someone" The time you have spent in your craft, the hours you ( and those around you)put into the videos is incrediable and appreciated. Never meant to drag on,i just hope this helps you to see the range of people seeing your work and give you an attaboy.

Hi Joe, hope you're still playing. I found the very 1st beginners lesson awesome. Got an electric kit and had no idea where to start. Within 30 minutes had basic rock beat down pat and found these for the fills. I also appreciate them as you have described. PS. I am 45 and they just starting out, and loving it. Happy Drumming \m/

Hey, Joe great story ... how have you done? Are you still playing?

Jared, I'm 68 years old, played drums with a garage band in my teens in HS. We never got out of the garage, but ended up giving up playing the drums. I too signed up with Drumeo for the on line lessons. You and your compardes are great , clear and concise with nice relaxed demeanor. I love that i have picked up playing drums again. I never learned to really read music. Initial leassons taken many , many years ago used music sheets. I basically played by ear. Still do. Ill never be as good as you, but do hope to improve to the extent that i can play along with the more simple rock and roll songs that i do play with now. No Led Zep, but CCR and Meloncamp , Stones offer goos music to play to. Thx again. Happy Drumming to all out there. Yeah i know: practice, practi e, practice. Stay safe, God Bless

Jared - you are a superb teacher - but stay humble because that is part of your personal magic. My wife is learning from your videos. They are 2nd to none. Thanks!

Jared, I have been watching your lessons on and off for several years. I normally don't read the comments nor post them but felt inspired to do so this morning! Especially after seeing 88 "dislikes" on this video session!!! This series is amazing!!! Fills have always been one of my downfalls, and ironically one of the things I really want to learn to play well. The video angles, the sheet music w/ bouncing ball (those from 80's really appreciate that!!), and your teaching style are spot on! Thanks for helping we aspiring drummers - young and old - to keep on keeping on! After seeing the amount of "dislikes" I was wondering what in the world are people NOT enjoying from this. I didn't get far before finding Joe Nowhere and Chuck Norris are picking up the drums at the same tender age as I am! We old folks like to rock too! Anyways, ignore the dislikes and thanks!

For anyone finding 60 easy and 100 impossible - try moving up to 80 first then 100. Or break it down even more, 70-80-90 etc... whatever suits you.

These videos are brilliant! I don't play drums but I program drum machines. You don't appear to use the mid tom, only the high and the floor toms. Does the mid tom come in later?
@baranyaibendeguz26799 жыл бұрын
If it helps somebody I strted to learn #10by the logic that there's hit on snare and 2 on High-tom and 3 on the floor tom and 4 on snare so it's increasing. It's just my kind of twisted logic!
