I'm pretty sure it is illegal to check out young female Japanese drummers and NOT watch Kanade Sato. I couldn't choose which link to give you so here are a few. She's definitely a jazz/fusion kind of drummer and has been since she was a kid. One of the first songs she taught herself when she was three was Chick Coreas Spain. Yes, I wrote three... 11 year old, winning Hit Like a Girl: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYCzZJmiqbOrhbM 13 year old, playing Dave Weckl - Spur of the moment: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXumfZWIqJKWqqM 17 year old, playing Dave Weckl - Festival de Ritmo: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5unh42Gr8uGZ8U 16 year old, playing Chick Corea - Spain. One of the first songs she learnt as a kid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2a1koB9rp6IoJI 7 year old, playing Chick Corea - Spain. Using a bit more perc in the backtrack: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnjHmpuHadygpKM 9 year old, playing Herbie Hancock - Hang Up Your Hangups: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYrbiKOcaah4mpI I could go on an link just about any song on her KZbin to blow your mind, but I'll stop here. If I was forced to tell you what to check out first I'd probably say her Hit Like a Girl thing. I can't wrap my head around an 11 year old playing that.

Jeeez OK bro, subbed and destroyed the BroBell. The power of the mighty Yoyoka has you hooked also. Dig the analysis. Nice work man. Check out Yoyoka doing Onyx, a Senri song. Live cut, just turned 8 at the time. Then watch Senri do it. It would make a great double feature analysis (not reaction, you’re more than that) video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5zLeJqnjd6qi5o. This is right about her 8th birthday. AAANND here is Senri, skip to 31:28 for her doing the smash hit single, ONYX!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJ_FkqGGo56diKc

Senri is extraordinary. Such a great drummer, and covers more genres than people give credit for. She's played live with AKB48, Guthrie Govan, Nick Johnstone, and many others as a session drummer covering pop, rock, and she's known to throw a few blastbeats in her solos when feeling cheeky. She coheadlined the Yamaha 50th birthday celebrations with Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, and Akira Jimbo. Massive accomplishments at such an age fully due to hard work. That kit is the drumeo version of her set-up, I'm not a huge fan of the snare as normally she has a fully coated head that gives her snare an extra pop. The stick juggle is a permanent fixture since she's been doing it since she began solos. It's a fan pleaser. Her real ability is more than the solos though, and her skill is best shown in her music. So. Here. Wupatki. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKOre6KPa7etiJI

Senri is the best female drummer in the world specialising in jazz though she does get a but erratic at times with the inverted cymbals. Her speed is unsurpassed in the female field and she sure shows it here at times. Have a look at her clips when younger. One when she was 12 performing with another prodigy Kanade Sato who was 8. Duelling and solos. It really is an impressive display. With Yoyoka, they're 3 of best drummers in the world.

I like Senri and I’m appreciating jazz fusion more and more because of her. She’s definitely a monster in drums. I wonder if Yoyoka has the same kit as Senri, what she would do with it. When she covered Onyx, she’s able to do justice on that song with only her ‘basic’ gear. Quite a feat.

Senri brings so much energy to prog-fusion, just as Yoyoka brings it to rock-pop-funk. My two favorite KZbin drummers! Love to hear your thoughts, especially because this style of music is somewhat beyond me.👍

7yo Yoyoka played Senri's song "Onyx" at live. It might be interesting to compare both. Yoyoka(7yo) kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5zLeJqnjd6qi5o Senri(17yo) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqSkfomMbrGonbs What made Senri become a famous in Japan is her "K-ON!!" cover. This song is a theme song for an anime about high school girls who plays in a band. She faithfully recreated the world of the anime and played it. At the time, it was said this song was too difficult for a high school student to actually played, but she did it at 13. But now, an another 7yo girl played this song almost perfectly. Please pay attention to her as well. Senri(13yo) kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHXRmKl4grllkMU Kii(7yo) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6WYomeVatOIq8U

Yeah she is profoundly talented. Absolutely awe-inspiring! Not sure if Yoyoka will head in her direction i.e. jazz fusion or stay in rock but Senri is amazing. Love your comments Wave much better than some other commentators who perhaps do no research about the performer or the band covered. Please refrain from self deprecation. Or edit it out. Thanks Wave, as always a great reaction video! I knew this girl was great, but for whatever reason I have latched onto Yoyoka (and JUNNA) as my favorites. Probably because if I followed every great Asian Drummer Girl, I wouldn't have time for anything else. There are sooo many! Interesting fact about her on Top 500, I did not know that. I'm not usually a big fan of drum solos, but she knocked this one out of the park! She made this solo VERY interesting. Thanks! In some respects, I might be surprised if this was planned out because these girls are so amazing I think they could just sit down and knock this out by feel anytime they wanted!

Best female drummer in the world, hands down. Too bad she went in the direction of fusion and jazz. But it makes her happy. I liked her when she had a metal band and then a rock band. She really kicks ass. Only Senri would wear a conservative dress and drum to play the drums. She is cool and I really like her. She and Yoyoka are friends. There was a female musician, not going to say who, that played with Yoyoka in a concert. The main bass player could not make the gig. One thing Yoyoka and Senri have in common is that they are both very wholesome. There was this one musician Yoyoka played on stage with and there have been no videos posted of that concert anywhere. Like the videos just fell off the face of the earth. I am sure that Rie said, no, no way. Heard that it was a real kick ass concert, mainly played Nirvana songs, but Rie is not going to let her daughter around certain people in the music business. Here is Senri jamming to Frankenstein, kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZzTmZyiod-Mf9U

She has a subtle sense of humor and joy for drumming. She hides frogs or lizard toys on her drum set. When she was 12-13 she did a bunch of K-On anime song cover videos dressed as a charter from the anime playing an identical small drum set. BTW the pattern on her dress is popcorn.

@@stevegee218 She does. Kind of seems to be a trademark with these young ladies. Youoka has her boketo on her kickdrum. I think JUNNA has a small teddybear attached to her drums. Thank you for a great reaction, and yes Senri is a very "magic" drummer! I get exactly what you mean: She seems to have a Meta-sense over the flow, like she is flying above the rythm and sees it all in one look! ( NO, i am perfectly sober! Lol) EDIT: To the commenters here and elsewhere in this subject i will say this: What saddens me is all these comparisons between Senri-san and that kid Yoyoka. Stop that people, please! They are both great drummers in their own way, yours comparing is just based on that they are japanese girls. Is it r*cism or is it s*xism? I don´t know, but i do know that music is not a competition.
